Myosotis Rakiura
''Myosotis rakiura'' is a species of flowering plant in the family Boraginaceae, endemic to southern South Island and Stewart Island/Rakiura of New Zealand. Joseph Beattie Armstrong described the species in 1881. Plants of this species of forget-me-not are perennial rosettes which form loose tufts or clumps, with ebracteate, erect inflorescences, and white corollas with exserted stamens. Taxonomy and etymology ''Myosotis rakiura'' is in the plant family Boraginaceae and was described as ''M. capitata'' var. ''albiflora'' in 1881 by Joseph Beattie Armstrong . Lucy Moore gave it a new name, ''M. rakiura,'' when she recognized it at the species level, because '' M. albiflora'' Banks & Sol. ex Hook.f. was already validly published for a southern South American species. Lucy Beatrice Moore (14 July 1906 – 9 June 1987) was a New Zealand botanist and ecologist. Biography Early life and education Moore was born in Warkworth, New Zealand, Warkworth, New Zealand, on 14 July 1906, the daughter of Janet Morison and Harry Blomfield Moore. Her father was a local librarian and keen amateur naturalist. Ngāi Tahu, or Kāi Tahu, is the principal Māori (tribe) of the South Island. Its (tribal area) is the largest in New Zealand, and extends from the White Bluffs / Te Parinui o Whiti (southeast of Blenheim), Mount Mahanga and Kahurangi Point in the north to Stewart Island / Rakiura in the south. The Solander Islands / Hautere are three uninhabited volcanic islets toward the western end of the Foveaux Strait just beyond New Zealand's South Island. The Māori name ''Hautere'' translates into English as "flying wind". These sequences regulate transcription initiation and amplification, and contain both transcribed and non-transcribed spacer segments.
