It was first released independently in September 2019, and released by Bad Realm and Atlantic Records in January 2020 serving as the EP's lead single. The song entered the Hot Country Songs chart at number 46 in February 2020, and later peaked at number 26 in April 2020. Daniel Gerard Breland (born July 18, 1995), known professionally as Breland, is an American singer, songwriter and record producer of a hybrid of country rap, R&B, gospel, and soul music. His 2019 debut single, " My Truck", rose to prominence the following year after gaining popular attention via social media, reaching No. 26 on ''Billboard''s Hot Country Songs chart, and was remixed with Sam Hunt before being certified platinum for sales of one million units as of January 2021. Genius is an American digital media company founded on August 27, 2009, by Tom Lehman, Ilan Zechory, and Mahbod Moghadam. The site allows users to provide annotations and interpretation to song lyrics, news stories, sources, poetry, and documents. Originally launched as Rap Genius with a focus on hip-hop music, the company attracted the attention and support of celebrities, and venture capital enabling further growth.
