''My Own Mess'' is the debut studio album by Australian surf music and garage rock band Skegss, released on 7 September 2018. The album debuted and peaked at number 2 on the ARIA Charts. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for ARIA Award for Best Rock Album, losing out to ''Amyl and the Sniffers'' by Amyl and the Sniffers. Critical reception Laviea Thomas from '' Clash'' gave the album a positive review describing the album as "Swirling in surfer-boy aesthetic, heartfelt lyrics and joyous guitar patterns." Thomas said "Need to Do" was the "stand out on the album." Skegss
Skegss are an Australian surf and garage rock trio originally from Byron Bay, New South Wales. The band's line-up consists of Toby Cregan (bass, vocals, guitar), Jonny Lani (drums) and Ben Reed (vocals, guitar, bass). They have released several extended plays and toured both nationwide and internationally. Skegss made international headlines after accusing American rappers Reese and Lil Yachty of copying the cover art for that collaboration's single, "Do It", from the band's 2015 EP, '' 50 Push Ups for a Dollar''. Their debut studio album, ''My Own Mess'', was released in September 2018 and peaked at number 2 on the ARIA Album Charts. Dune Rats
Dune Rats are an Australian rock band from Brisbane, Queensland. Originally, the band formed as a duo, with Danny Beus on guitar and lead vocals and BC Michael Marks on drums and backing vocals. The band later became a three-piece, with Brett Jansch (formerly a touring member of Bleeding Knees Club) joining as bassist. Brad Heald, originally from Red Riders and The Vines, also made touring appearances on bass from 2011 to 2012. On 30 May 2014, the band released their self-titled debut album through their label Ratbag Records. They supported the release with a global and national tour. Surf music (or surf rock, surf pop, or surf guitar) is a Music genre, genre of rock music associated with surf culture, particularly as found in Southern California. It was especially popular from 1958 to 1964 in two major forms. Amyl and the Sniffers are an Australian pub rock and punk rock band based in Melbourne, consisting of vocalist Amy Taylor, drummer Bryce Wilson, guitarist Dec Martens, and bassist Gus Romer. The ARIA Music Awards of 2019 are the 33rd Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) and consist of a series of awards, including the 2019 ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Hall of Fame Awards, and ARIA Fine Arts Awards and the ARIA Awards.
