My Mummy's Dead
"My Mummy's Dead" is the closing song on the album ''John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band'' by John Lennon. The song was also released on a Mexican EP that also contained "Mother", " Isolation (John Lennon song), Isolation" and " Look at Me". Writing It is one of the songs Lennon wrote concerning his mother, along with "Julia" and "Mother". The song is partially set to the tune of the English nursery rhyme "Three Blind Mice". It is in the key of C sharp major. Unlike the primal screams on "Mother", the opening song on ''Plastic Ono Band'', "My Mummy's Dead" ends the album with John singing without emotion with a monotone delivery. Johnny Rogan
John Rogan (14 February 1953 – 21 January 2021) was a British author of Irish descent best known for his books about music and popular culture. The Minus 5
The Minus 5 is an American pop rock band headed by musician Scott McCaughey of Young Fresh Fellows, often in partnership with R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck. Band history McCaughey formed the band in 1993 as a side project with Buck, Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow of The Posies. Buck had moved to the Seattle area in 1992; the other principals were longtime fixtures of the Seattle music scene. "All You Need Is Love" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a non-album single in July 1967. It was written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. "Oh Yoko!" is a 1971 song written and performed by John Lennon. It was first released on his album ''Imagine'', and was later included in the greatest hits compilation '' Working Class Hero: The Definitive Lennon''. The song was written about his wife Yoko Ono, and features Nicky Hopkins on piano and co-producer Phil Spector on harmony vocal. Lennon plays harmonica for the first time on a solo recording (since the Beatles' "Rocky Raccoon"), and it would also be the last time he used the instrument in a released recording. Wilfrid Howard Mellers (26 April 1914 – 17 May 2008) was an English music critic, musicologist and composer. Early life Born in Leamington, Warwickshire, Mellers was educated at the local Leamington College and later won a scholarship to Downing College, Cambridge, where he read English under F. R. Leavis. The Lost Lennon Tapes
''The Lost Lennon Tapes'' was an American music documentary series presented by Elliot Mintz, comprising a three-hour premiere episode and 218 one-hour episodes, broadcast on the Westwood One Radio Network between 24 January 1988 and 29 March 1992. The show had about 7 million listeners weekly, and was broadcast in six countries. Origin of the tapes John Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, initiated this project to continue her husband's legacy for the fans and to share unreleased songs and recordings throughout the life of John Lennon. She wanted this series to not only appeal to Lennon fans, but also younger individuals interested in John Lennon or his creative process.
