It focuses on a Cretan grandfather who was forced to leave his home in Crete during the population exchange between Greece and Turkey, and who hopes to see his birthplace again before his death. Çağan Irmak
Çağan Irmak (born 4 April 1970) is a Turkish film and television writer and director, who has managed to attract a large audience in Turkey and is best known for the TV series '' Çemberimde Gül Oya'' (2004–2005) and ''Asmalı Konak'' (2002–2004), and for the hit films '' Alone'' (2008) and ''My Father and My Son'' (2005), for which he received Turkish Cinema Writers Association Awards for Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Director. He studied Radio, TV and Film Studies at Ege University Faculty of Communications, receiving the Sedat Simavi Award for two short films, ''Masal'' (The Tale) and ''Kurban'' (The Sacrifice), which he made in the course of his studies. Mercan Ezgi Mola (born 29 March 1983) is a Turkish actress who acted in several prominent Turkish movies and TV series. Biography Ezgi is known for her successful run in the cinema as well as theatre in her career. She has performed in an improvisation theater "Arkadaşım Hoşgeldin". Şahabettin Mert Fırat (born 10 January 1981) is a Turkish actor and screenwriter. Life Fırat is of Turkish, Circassian and Arab descent. His father is singer Nihat Fırat. After finishing high school, he studied radio and television broadcasting in Sweden. He then returned to Ankara and took acting classes in Ankara University. Fırat graduated from the theatre department of Ankara University and took his master's degree in Film and Drama from Kadir Has University. Yiğit Özşener ( born 6 April 1972) is a Turkish actor. Biography His family originates on paternal side from Turkish immigrants in Kavala (Ottoman Empire, now in Greece), and on maternal side from Turkish immigrants in Skopje, Macedonia.
