Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard
The Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard ( tr, Mustafa Kemal Sahil Bulvarı) is a major thoroughfare in İzmir, Turkey. Consisting of six lanes, it stretches from Cumhuriyet Boulevard in Çankaya to the İzmir-Çeşme motorway in Üçkuyular, running along the southeastern coast of the Gulf of İzmir. The road was one of the city's first major projects at restructuring and improving İzmir's existing road network. The route was constructed upon reclaimed land, due to lack of space on the pre-existing coast, and built as a six-lane boulevard. Considered an urban extension of the Çeşme motorway, the Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard was originally planned to continue north into Alsancak along the shore, then turn east and connect to the D.300 and D.550 state highways in Halkapınar. This part of the project was never built, due to public opposition, and the land originally reclaimed in Alsancak for the boulevard was converted into an esplanade. Asansör
Asansör (Turkish for " elevator", derived from the French word ''ascenseur'') is a historical building in İzmir's Karataş quarter, within the boundaries of the metropolitan district of Konak. It was built in 1907 as a work of public service by a wealthy Jewish banker and trader of that period, Nesim Levi Bayraklıoğlu, in order to ease passage from the narrow coastline of Karataş to the hillside, the elevator within the building serving to carry people and goods through the steep cliff between the two parts of the quarter. Kadifekale
Kadifekale (literally "the velvet castle" in Turkish) is a hilltop castle in Ä°zmir, Turkey. The castle is located on the Mount Pagos ( el, Πάγος, Pagus under the Roman Empire) which has an elevation of 186 metres. It was built in the 3rd century BC. Homeros Boulevard
Homeros Boulevard ( tr, Homeros Bulvarı) is a partially completed thoroughfare in İzmir, Turkey. The route is planned to be an long "express route" connecting central Konak to the İzmir Coach Terminal in south Bornova, as well as the O-5 and O-30 motorways. The first section of the boulevard, a long section in northwest Buca, opened on 14 December 2013 with an official ceremony. The boulevard was then named ''Homeros Boulevard'' after the legendary ancient author who once lived in western Anatolia. Konak Ferry Terminal ( tr, Konak İskelesi , or ''Konak Vapur İskelesi'') to differentiate it from the older Konak Pier, is a passenger ferry terminal in central Konak, İzmir on the Gulf of İzmir. It is located at the west end of the ''Kent Tarihi Park'', west of Konak Square and Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard. İzdeniz operates commuter ferry service to destinations in Karşıyaka, Bayraklı, Balçova as well as within Konak. Varyant is the more widely known name for the United Nations Avenue ( tr, Birleşmiş Milletler Caddesi), an avenue in İzmir, Turkey that is well known for its winding route and vista of the city. The road connects Halil Rıfat Paşa Avenue in central Konak, İzmir, Konak to İnönü Avenue in Eşrefpaşa. The avenue was originally built as a two-way street, but the northern half was converted to a one way street, when Halil Rıfat Paşa Avenue was extended down to Bahribaba in Konak.
