Munawar Musso (1897, in Kediri, East Java – Madiun, on 31 October 1948) was a leader of the Communist Party of Indonesia and one of the key figures in the 1948 Madiun affair. Biography Early life Musso was born Munawar Musso in 1897, Pagu, Kediri. His father was a bank clerk in Wates, Mas Martoredjo. In Batavia, Musso trained as a teacher. He met Alimin, a disciple of G.A.J. Hazeu and D. van Hinloopen Labberton. According to Soemarsono, one of the PKI leaders in the Madiun affair, Musso continued to Hogere Burger School in 1913. He lived at Tjokroaminoto's boarding house with Alimin and Sukarno. According to Arnold C. Brackman, at the time Musso worked as a cashier at a Surabaya post office. In Surabaya, Musso also met Henk Sneevliet. Beginning of PKI career Musso and Alimin had more important tasks in infiltrating Sarekat Islam than Surjopranoto. Maria Musso (14 September 1931 – 31 January 2024) was an Italian sprinter and pentathlete. Biography Musso was born in Turin on 14 September 1931. She participated twice in the Summer Olympics (1952 and 1956) and had 29 caps with the national team from 1949 to 1960. Musso died on 31 January 2024, at the age of 92. Musso & Frank Grill is a restaurant located at 6667-9 Hollywood Boulevard in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. The restaurant opened in 1919 and is named for original owners Joseph Musso and Frank Toulet. It is the oldest restaurant in Hollywood and has been called "the genesis of Hollywood." Vido Musso
Vido William Musso (January 16, 1913 – January 9, 1982) was an American jazz saxophonist. Biography Musso moved with his family from Sicily to the U.S. in July 1920, having arrived at the Port of New York on the Italian steamship ''Patria''. They lived in Detroit, where Musso started learning to play clarinet. Ten years later, he went to Los Angeles and formed a big band with Stan Kenton in 1935. Musso dropped out the next year to work with Gus Arnheim, Benny Goodman, and Gene Krupa. He accompanied Billie Holiday and pianist Teddy Wilson on recordings in the late 1930s. He replaced Bunny Berigan as the leader of his band and tried unsuccessfully at other times during the 1930s and 1940s to be a big band leader. But most of his career was spent as a sideman. Niccolò Musso
Niccolò Musso (active 1618) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period. He was mostly active in his natal city of Casale Monferrato. He is said to have trained or worked under either Caravaggio for ten years in Rome (Pellegrino Antonio Orlandi, Orlandi) or by local tradition under the Accademia degli Incamminati, Carracci in Bologna (Lanzi). He painted for the church of St. Francis in Casale Monferato, representing that saint at the feet of Christ crucified, and angels partaking in his lamentations and devotions. The painting is now in the church of Sant’Ilario. He painted a self-portrait which is in the picture gallery of the Museo Civico at Casale. He is also called ''Niccolo Musso''. Luigi Musso (28 July 1924 – 6 July 1958) was an Italian racing driver. In 1955 he joined the Ferrari team, entering into a fierce rivalry with Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins, which boosted the performance of the team, but also encouraged greater risk-taking. According to Musso's fiancée, he was deep in debt by the time of the lucrative 1958 French Grand Prix, where he was fatally injured, somersaulting into a ditch while chasing Hawthorn. Musso (Comasco: ) is a small town in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy. It lies on the western shore of the northern branch of Lake Como about northeast of the city of Como.
