Musica Viva (Munich)
musica viva is a concert series of contemporary music, founded in Munich in 1945 by Karl Amadeus Hartmann. It has been run by the broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk from 1948. It is focused on orchestral music, performed at the Herkulessaal of the Münchner Residenz, but also features multi-media events and studio concerts at venues such as the culture centre, churches in Munich, the theatre and the Gasteig. It has been regarded as a leading series of contemporary music, along with the Donaueschinger Musiktage, the Darmstädter Ferienkurse and the Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik. Musica Viva
Musica Viva was founded in 1945 by Romanian-born violinist Richard Goldner, with the aim of bringing chamber music to Australia. The co-founder was a German-born musicologist, Walter Dullo. At its inception, Musica Viva was a string ensemble performing chamber music to small groups of European immigrants. By 2013, Musica Viva had become one of the largest chamber music presenters in the world. Musica Viva runs a large music education programs across Australia, called Musica Viva In Schools. The CEO is Hywel Sims. The Artistic Director is conductor and author Paul Kildea. Tristan Murail
Tristan Murail (born 11 March 1947) is a French composer associated with the "spectral" technique of composition. Among his compositions is the large orchestral work ''Gondwana''. Early life and studies Murail was born in Le Havre, France. His father, Gérard Murail, is a poet and his mother, Marie-Thérèse Barrois, a journalist. One of his brothers, Lorris Murail, and his younger sister Elvire Murail, a.k.a. Moka, are also writers, and his younger sister Marie-Aude Murail is a French children's writer. Following his university studies in Arabic and economics, Murail attended the Paris Conservatory, where he studied composition with Olivier Messiaen Kennedy, Michael (2006), ''The Oxford Dictionary of Music'', from 1967 to 1972. Enno Poppe
Enno Poppe (born 30 December 1969 in Hemer, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German composer and conductor of classical music, and an academic teacher. Career Enno Poppe studied composition and conducting at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin with Friedrich Goldmann and Gösta Neuwirth, among others. He studied sound synthesis and algorithmic composition with Heinrich Taube at the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karlsruhe. Since 1998 he has conducted the ensemble mosaik for contemporary music in Berlin. He taught from 2002 to 2004 at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler". He received commissions from Salzburg Festival, Berliner Festwochen, Ensemble InterContemporain, The Louvre, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Ensemble Modern, Klangforum Wien, the Westdeutscher Rundfunk, the SWR for the Donaueschinger Musiktage and the Bayerischer Rundfunk. Philippe Manoury
Philippe Manoury (born 19 June 1952) is a French composer. Biography Manoury was born in Tulle and began composition studies at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with Gérard Condé and Max Deutsch. He continued his studies from 1974 to 1978 at the Conservatoire de Paris with Michel Philippot, Ivo Malec, and Claude Ballif.Poirier 2001. In 1975, he undertook studies in computer assisted composition with , and joined IRCAM as a composer and electronic music researcher in 1980. From 2004 until 2012, Manoury served on the composition faculty at the University of California, San Diego, where he taught composition, electronic music, and analysis in the graduate program. The Ensemble Musikfabrik (music factory ensemble) is an ensemble for contemporary classical music located in Cologne. Their official name is Ensemble Musikfabrik Landesensemble NRW e.V. Georg Friedrich Haas (born 16 August 1953 in Graz, Austria) is an Austrian composer. In a 2017 ''Classic Voice'' poll of the greatest works of art music since 2000, pieces by Haas received the most votes (49), and his composition ''in vain'' (2000) topped the list. Anders Erik Birger Eliasson (3 April 1947 – 20 May 2013) was a Sweden, Swedish composer. Life Eliasson was born in Borlänge. His "earliest musical experiences originated from within myself: they were my own singing, and familiar tunes I heard on the radio. No classical music." Marching his toy soldiers up and down, he used to imagine sounds, learning only later to describe them as an orchestra. Aged 9, he began the trumpet, started up a small jazz orchestra (two clarinets, trombone, rhythm section, guitar, trumpet), and aged 10 he was writing arrangements.
