Saleh And Daoud Al-Kuwaity
Saleh (1908–1986) and Daud (1910–1976) Al-Kuwaity ( ar, صالح و داوود الكويتي) were Kuwait-born Israeli musicians of Iraqi-Iranian ancestry who rose to prominence in the Arab world in the early twentieth century. The brothers had a pioneering role in the modern classical music of Iraq and Kuwait, especially the Iraqi ''maqam'' and Kuwaiti ''sawt'' genres. In 1951, the brothers immigrated from Iraq to Israel. Early life and work The brothers were born in Kuwait in 1908 and 1910 to a Mizrahi Jewish family which originally immigrated from Iraq. Their father, who was a Jewish merchant of Iranian ancestry, moved to Kuwait from the Iraqi city of Basra. Their family was part of the Kuwaiti Jewish community in the first decade of the twentieth century. Abdallah Alruwaished ( ar, عبدالله الرويشد, born July 18, 1961) is an Arab singer and actor from Kuwait. He has released over thirty albums. Biography Alruwaished began his solo career in the early 1980s with the release of his first album with AlNazaer Music Production Company. Alruwaished released albums throughout the 1980s. During the early 1990s, Alruwaishid relocated temporarily to Egypt as Kuwait was invaded by Iraq. From there he continued his music career. After the end of the Gulf War, Alruwaished returned to Kuwait and continued with his music career. Nawal El Kuwaitia ( ar, نوال الكويتية; born Nawal Thaher Al-Zaid, 18 November 1966) is a Kuwaiti singer and actress. Career Nawal studied at the Music Institute in Kuwait. Nawal's first album was released in 1984. The majority of her albums are not titled, but rather are referred to by number (e.g. Nawal 98, Nawal 99). She has also filmed many music videos (mainly in Lebanon) and was one of the first Khaliji artists to do so. Star Academy (Arabia)
''Star Academy Arab World'' or ''Star Academy Arabia'', is a pan-Arab televised talent show, which has aired since 2003. The show features a group of young male and female candidates who are selected from a pan-Arab pool of more than three-thousand and are sequestered for four months in "The Academy," a four-story building in Lebanon, where they live, train, and compete against one another every week. The show became an instant success and an everyday much-watched event across the Arab world.
