Music From McLeod's Daughters
The television series McLeod's Daughters had many different songs for their closing credits which were written by Posie Graeme-Evans and Chris Harriot and performed by singer Rebecca Lavelle. Production In 2008, Graeme-Evans tells of the songwriting process for the soundtracks.For me, writing the songs for McLeod's has become an emotional journey into the heart of the series and the characters we've all come to love so much. I'd always thought Chris Harriott and I could use songs as a way to get under the skin of Claire, Tess, Meg, Jodi, Becky, Nick and Alex; almost like tools within an episode, the songs would give voice to what the characters were feeling but could not say. But as Chris and I have developed the songs, they've become much more to me than that: they've become a way of exploring how we all feel, the things we'd all like to say.The music was performed primarily by Rebecca Lavelle. McLeod's Daughters
''McLeod's Daughters'' is an Australian drama television series created by Posie Graeme-Evans and Caroline Stanton for the Nine Network, which aired from 8 August 2001, to 31 January 2009, lasting eight seasons. It stars Lisa Chappell and Bridie Carter in the leading roles as two sisters reunited after twenty years of separation, thrust into a working relationship when they inherit their family's cattle station in South Australia. Posie Graeme-Evans
Posie Graeme-Evans is an Australian novelist, television and film producer, editor, screenwriter and director. She is best known as the creator and showrunner of ''McLeod's Daughters'', the co-creator and co-producer of '' Hi-5'', producing and creating '' Mirror, Mirror'', and was Director of Drama for the Nine Network from 2002 to 2005. As an author she is known for six historical novels, published by NY based Simon & Schuster. Early life Graeme-Evans is the daughter of a novelist, Eleanor, and an RAF pilot. As a very young child, she travelled with her parents to Egypt during the Suez Crisis, and she spent three years in 1960s Cyprus during Turkish-Greek Cypriot conflicts. Bec Lavelle (born 18 March 1980 in Maitland) is an Australian musician, singer-songwriter. Lavelle provided lead vocals for songs on TV drama, ''McLeod's Daughters'' (2001–2009). The tracks are written by Posie Graeme-Evans and Chris Harriott. Lavelle appears on three soundtracks for the show, the first volume (26 August 2002) peaked at No. 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified platinum by ARIA for shipment of 70,000 units. The second volume (25 April 2004) reached No. 19 and was certified gold for 35,000 units shipped. She had an on screen guest role as Bindy Martin in October 2006 in an episode, "Old Wrongs".
