Museum Für Kommunikation Hamburg
The (museum of communication) was a museum related to telecommunication and postal service in Hamburg, Germany. The museum in the building of Alte Oberpostdirektion at Stephansplatz, Hamburg, Stephansplatz square was owned by the ' (foundation for museums of postal service and telecommunication). It was closed to visitors on 19 October 2009 and was liquidated afterwards. The collection placed emphasis on the difficulties of communication at sea, the museum participated in the Long Night of Museums. Hamburg Dammtor Station
Hamburg Dammtor is a railway station for long distance, regional and suburban trains on the Hamburg-Altona link line, located in Central Hamburg, Germany. In front is a bus station of the same name for public transport. The railway station is one of four long-distance train stations in Hamburg. The other stations are Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, Hamburg-Altona and Hamburg-Harburg. Despite its size and importance, the station is classified as a railway stop (''Haltepunkt'') because it does not have any switches, a requirement for a station (''Bahnhof'') according to the regulations. Alte Oberpostdirektion
Alte is a village and civil parish in the municipality of Loulé, in the Algarve region in the south of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 1,997, in an area of 94.33 km². Situated away from the coast, Alte is known as one of the most typical and unspoilt villages in the region of the Algarve. The village contains Algarve style whitewashed houses, traditional chimneys, and cobbled alleys. The Portuguese poet Cândido Guerreiro was born in Alte, in 1871. Stephansplatz (''Stephan Square'') is a square in Neustadt quarter, Hamburg, Germany. It is located at the junction of the streets of Dammtordamm, Esplanade, Dammtorstraße, and Gorch-Fock-Wall, south of Dammtor area and Dammtor station. The square is named after German Empire post director Heinrich von Stephan, who is known for his role in the founding of the Universal Postal Union. The square and a small part of the streets of Dammtordamm and Dammtorstraße had been renamed in the course of the inauguration of the historical building of Alte Oberpostdirektion (Old Hamburg Post Office Administration) at the square. Long Night Of Museums
The Long Night of Museums (german: Lange Nacht der Museen), or the Night of Museums, and, since 2005, the European Night of Museums, is a cultural event in which museums and cultural institutions to remain open late into the night to introduce themselves to new potential patrons. Visitors are given a common entrance pass which grants them access to all exhibits as well as complimentary public transportation within the area. The first took place in Berlin in 1997. The concept was very well received. In 2005 the Council of Europe, UNESCO and the International Council of Museums joined to promote this event with the goal of improving access to culture. Museum Night takes place on the third Saturday of May.
