Museum D'Histoire Naturelle Aix-en-Provence
The Museum d’Histoire Naturelle Aix en Provence is a natural history museum in Aix en Provence, France. Building Up to 2014, the museum was accommodated in the Hôtel Boyer d'Eguilles in the city of Aix. For the time being, the collections have been brought to different sites and are not accessible to the public with the exception of pedagogic activities. It is planned to re-open the museum in 2019–2020 in a house in the Saint-Mitre Park. Gaston De Saporta
Gaston de Saporta (28 July 1823 – 26 January 1895) was a French aristocrat, palaeobotanist and non-fiction writer. Biography Early life (Louis Charles Joseph) Gaston de Saporta born in the Château de Montvert in Saint-Zacharie, Var, on July 28, 1823. He was a member of the Provençal nobility. His father was Adolphe Charles François Anne de Saporta (1800-1879) and his mother, Irène Boyer de Fonscolombe de La Mole (1799-1879). He grew up in the Hôtel Boyer de Fonscolombe, a listed hôtel particulier at 21 Rue Gaston de Saporta in Aix-en-Provence, where he resided all his life. Jules Sébastien César Dumont d'Urville (; 23 May 1790 – 8 May 1842) was a French explorer and naval officer who explored the south and western Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, and Antarctica. As a botanist and cartographer, he gave his name to several seaweeds, plants and shrubs, and places such as d'Urville Island in New Zealand. Childhood Dumont was born at Condé-sur-Noireau in Lower Normandy.
