Mus Of Kerbridge
''Mus of Kerbridge'' is a 1995 fantasy novel by Pauli Kidd. It follows the story of a mouse called Mus who, after being changed into an intelligent humanoid version of his species able to talk, has been sent to spy on the princess of Kerbridge only to help her fight against the warlady of the South. It is set in the same world detailed in the Lace & Steel RPG. Background ''Mus of Kerbridge'' was first published in the United States in May 1995 by TSR, Inc. in paperback format. In 2007 it was republished at Lulu. Pauli Kidd
Pauli Kidd (Pauli Jayne Kidd; formerly Paul James Kidd), also known as Patpahootie, is an Australian writer of fantasy fiction. Career Before pursuing a career in writing Kidd had worked at Beam Software, an Australia-based game developer. She is credited as, among other things, the writer, director and lead designer of ''Nightshade'', an action-adventure title for the NES. She is also credited as the lead designer for '' Shadowrun''. Kidd's first book, entitled ''Mus of Kerbridge'', was released in 1995 and received a short-list nomination for the 1995 Aurealis Awards best fantasy novel. The Aurealis Award for Excellence in Speculative Fiction is an annual literary award for Australian science fiction, fantasy and horror fiction. Only Australians are eligible for the award. History The Aurealis Award was established in 1995 by '' Chimaera Publications'', the publishers of ''Aurealis Magazine''. Unlike the other major Australian speculative fiction award, the Ditmar Award, it divides work into subgenre and age categories, and is judged as such. Garth Richard Nix (born 19 July 1963) is an Australian writer who specialises in children's and young adult fantasy novels, notably the ''Old Kingdom'', '' Seventh Tower'' and '' Keys to the Kingdom'' series. He has frequently been asked if his name is a pseudonym, to which he has responded, "I guess people ask me because it sounds like the perfect name for a writer of fantasy. However, it is my real name." Biography Born in Melbourne, Nix was raised in Canberra. He attended Turner Primary School, Lyneham High School and Dickson College for schooling.
