Rangiya Junction Railway Station
Rangiya Junction railway station is a junction station on the New Bongaigaon–Guwahati section of Barauni–Guwahati line, and Rangia–Tezpur line of Rangiya–Murkongselek section. It is located in Kamrup district in the Indian state of Assam. It serves Rangiya and the surrounding areas. History In 1883–84 the -wide metre-gauge line of Assam Behar State Railway met the Eastern Bengal Railway's broad gauge line at . It reached in 1888–89 and in 1909 it reached Amingaon on the banks of the Brahmaputra, which could be crossed by ferry to reach Guwahati. The new broad-gauge track from New Bongaigaon to Guwahati was commissioned in 1984. Saraighat Bridge opened in 1962, initially carried metre-gauge tracks, which was later replaced by broad-gauge tracks. Pasighat Airport
Pasighat Airport is a regional airport serving Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, India. History The airstrip was laid down during the Sino-Indian War of 1962 and saw little use after the war until the Indian Air Force signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to develop the airstrip in 2009. The IAF took over the airstrip in February 2010. An Air Traffic Control Tower, apron for parking aircraft, a perimeter road and security wall was constructed. The upgraded airstrip was inaugurated by Kiren Rijiju in August 2016 and a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter of the Indian Air Force landed on the airstrip as part of the inaugural function. Lakhimpur district ( ) is an administrative district in the state of Assam in India. The district headquarter is located at North Lakhimpur. The district is bounded on the North by Siang and Papumpare districts of Arunachal Pradesh and on the East by Dhemaji District and Subansiri River. An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons.
