Murder Of Eric Morse
Eric Morse ( – October 13, 1994) was a five-year-old African-American boy from Chicago, Illinois, who was murdered in October 1994. Morse was dropped from a high-rise building in the Ida B. Wells Homes by ten-year-old Jesse Rankins and 11-year-old Tykeece Johnson. Morse's murder was notable for the young ages of the victim and the killers, and brought further national attention to the plight of children in Chicago's housing projects. Rankins and Johnson, both minors at the time, were convicted for the murder of Morse and sentenced to five years' imprisonment each. Dantrell Davis
Dantrell Davis (July 31, 1985 – October 13, 1992) was a 7-year-old boy from Chicago, Illinois, who was murdered in October 1992. Davis was walking to school with his mother in the Cabrini-Green housing projects when he was accidentally shot by Anthony Garrett, a member of a local street gang who intended to shoot a rival. Dantrell's death sparked an increased awareness of the extensive violence occurring in Chicago's inner-city projects, and led to the first street gang truce in Cabrini–Green, which lasted for three years. Garrett was convicted of first-degree murder for Davis' death, and received a 100-year sentence. Robert Sandifer
Robert Sandifer (March 12, 1983 – September 1, 1994) (also known as Yummy) was an 11-year-old boy from Chicago, Illinois. His murder by fellow gang members in Chicago garnered national attention because of his age, resulting in his appearance on the cover of ''Time'' magazine in September 1994. His nickname originates from his love for cookies. Standing 137 cm (4 ft 6 in), Sandifer was a young member of the Chicago street gang the Black Disciples (BD).
