Murder Inc. (rap Group)
Murder Inc. was an American hip hop supergroup formed by American music executive Irv Gotti, in 1995. The trio was composed of three of the most prominent rappers in the music industry at the time, East Coast hip hop artists Jay-Z, DMX, and Ja Rule. The trio first appeared on fellow New York-based rapper Mic Geronimo's song "Time to Build". The trio even went on to appear on the cover of the June 1999 issue of American hip-hop magazine '' XXL''. "Murder Inc." was rebranded by Irv Gotti in the namesake record label he co-founded in 1998, in which Ja Rule was signed. ''XXL'' is an American hip hop magazine, published by Townsquare Media, founded in 1997. History In August 1997, Harris Publications released the first issue of ''XXL''. It featured rappers Jay-Z and Master P on a double cover. In December 2006, ''XXL'' took over the struggling hip-hop producer and DJ magazine '' Scratch'' (another publication owned by Harris Publications), re-branding it as ''XXL Presents Scratch Magazine''. However ''Scratch'' shut down less than a year later in September 2007. Aston George Taylor Jr. (born August 5, 1968), professionally known as Funkmaster Flex, is an American DJ, rapper, record producer, and host on New York City's Hot 97 radio station. "Ain't No Nigga" is the second single from the American rapper Jay-Z's first album, ''Reasonable Doubt'', and is featured on the soundtrack to the 1996 Eddie Murphy movie '' The Nutty Professor''. It was released on March 19, 1996. The track features Foxy Brown, and uncredited vocals by Jaz-O. Background The song's beat is produced by Big Jaz who samples "Seven Minutes of Funk" by the funk band The Whole Darn Family. ''Reasonable Doubt'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Jay-Z. It was released on June 25, 1996, by Priority Records and Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records. He is best known as the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records along with Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and Damon "Dame" Dash. Early life Kareem Burke was born in Harlem, New York City, on January 19, 1974. Damon Anthony Dash (born May 3, 1971) is an American entrepreneur and record executive. Dash is best known as co-founder of Roc-A-Fella along with Jay-Z and Kareem Burke. Early life Born in New York City, Dash swept the floors of a local barbershop and sold newspapers in order to buy sneakers and shirts as a teenager.
