Muminunnesa Women's College
Muminunnesa Women's College,Mymensingh or Muminunnesa College in short, is a public university-college located opposite Town Hall of Mymensingh near the Brahmaputra river in Bangladesh. History It was established in 1946 and was named after Muminunnesa Khan, mother of a businessman M. R. Khan. Initially established as a private college. Renowned social reformer M.R. Khan donated the land and major portion of the finance and helped develop the infrastructure of the college with a view to establishing the college after the name of his mother Muminunnisa. The then Director of Mass Education Mr. Md. Shamsul Haq inaugurated the college on July 29, 1959. The Founder-Principal of the college was educationist Alhaj Reazuddin Ahmed. Mymensingh ( bn, ময়মনসিংহ) is the capital of Mymensingh Division, Bangladesh. Located on the bank of Brahmaputra River, about north of the national capital Dhaka, it is a major financial center and educational hub of north-central Bangladesh. Brahmaputra River
The Brahmaputra is a trans-boundary river which flows through Tibet, northeast India, and Bangladesh. It is also known as the Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibetan, the Siang/Dihang River in Arunachali, Luit in Assamese, and Jamuna River in Bangla. It is the 9th largest river in the world by discharge, and the 15th longest. Shamsun Nahar Iffat Ara ( bn, (ইফ্ফাত আরা), known as Iffat Ara, is a writer, social activist and literary organizer of Bangladesh. Her literary career began in late 1950s when she started to write short stories and publish them in the leading newspaper of the country including the '' Azad''. Life and education Iffat Ara was born to Maulavi Quazi Abdul Hakim and Mosammat Hajera Khatun in Mymensingh town in 1939. She struggled hard for formal education, first learning Arabic at home to be able to read the Quran. She then went to Muslim Girls' School for primary education. Nazmun Ara Sultana
Nazmun Ara Sultana (born July 8, 1950) first woman in Bangladesh to serve as head of an Appellate Division bench in Supreme Court. Supreme Court, the apex court that gives a final verdict in the country's judicial system. Nazmun Ara Sultana took oath as a first female justice of Appellate Division on February 23 in 2011. Maliha Khatun
Maliha Khatun (died 24 May 2002) was a Bangladeshi educationist, writer and social worker. She was awarded Begum Rokeya Padak in 2001 by the Government of Bangladesh. She served as the first woman principal of Dhaka Teachers' Training College. Early life Khatun's father, Kazi Sanaullah, was a professor of Arabic and Persian at the Presidency College, Calcutta. She completed her BA honors from Bethune College, Calcutta, after securing a first division in matriculation from Sakhawat Memorial School. She got her master's in Bengali and philosophy. She did her diploma and post-graduation in education and psychology respectively from the University of Edinburgh in 1957. Eden Mohila College (known as Eden College), is a women's college in Azimpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1873 in the Farashganj area of Dhaka.
