''Multiply'' is a studio album by Jamie Lidell. It was released by Warp Records in 2005. Unusually for Warp, which for many years released mainly electronic music, the album has much in common with soul and funk music. Critical reception At '' Metacritic'', which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, ''Multiply'' received an average score of 84% based on 24 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim". Jonathan Keefe, writing for Slant, praised the album's mixture of classic soul and modern dance music while commenting on its departure from Warp's usual sound, saying "It’s hard to imagine what Warp’s post- IDM demographic might make of ''Multiply'', but it’s an album fully deserving of finding a massive fanbase across multiple genres of more mainstream pop." Jamie Lidell
Jamie Alexander Lidderdale (born 18 September 1973, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England), known professionally as Jamie Lidell, is an English musician, soul singer and podcast host living in Nashville, Tennessee. Lidell was formerly a part of Super Collider. Career Lidell is known for layering tracks made with his voice into a microphone and performing the percussion and melody as a sequenced, beatboxing one-man band. Then over his augmented voices, he sings soul-inspired songs. This exercise makes for energetic live performances. Lidell has become renowned for his diverse range of genre-exploration. André Vida
André Vida (born 1974) is Hungarian-American saxophonist, lyricist, avant-garde musician and experimental composer based in Berlin. Vida has been on the forefront of several major developments in experimental music, including his membership in Anthony Braxton’s original Ghost Trance Ensemble, as founding member of New York collective the CTIA, performances with The Tower Recordings and subsequent ‘ freak folk’ groups. Early life and education André Vida was born in 1974 in the United States. Throughout the 1990s, he played in bands with Anthony Braxton, a Professor of Music at Wesleyan University. In 1995, Vida moved to New York City and co-founded the Creative Trans-Informational Alliance Presents (CTIA) with Brandon Evans and Dominique Eade. Vida graduated from Wesleyan University in 1997. Paul Bonomo (born November 9, 1969), better known as Snax, is a musician, singer, songwriter, producer, performer and DJ from the Washington, D.C. area. He is currently based in Berlin, Germany. Snax became well known as a member of electro-pop duo Captain Comatose and subsequently for his solo single "Honeymoon's Over," the remix of which by Konrad Black was an underground club hit in 2007. He has collaborated and toured with several artists including Peaches, Scissor Sisters, Mocky, Jamie Lidell and Joey Arias. Snax is proficient on keyboards and also plays guitar, bass and drums. Jason Charles Beck (born 20 March 1972), professionally known as Chilly Gonzales, is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and producer. Currently based in Cologne, Germany, he previously lived for several years in Paris.
