The Multan women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for Multan. They competed in the National Women's Cricket Championship between 2004–05 and 2017. History Multan joined the National Women's Cricket Championship for its inaugural season in 2004–05, beating Faisalabad in the initial knock-out stage before finishing fourth in the final Super League. The side went on to compete in every edition of the National Women's Cricket Championship until it ended in 2017, but did not better their best finish from their first season. They finished second in their group five times in a row between 2006–07 and 2011–12, as well as in 2014. The National Women's Cricket Championship, officially the Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah National Women's Cricket Championship, was a women's domestic Limited overs cricket, one-day cricket competition that took place in Pakistan between 2004–05 and 2017. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. The Multan cricket team was a first-class cricket team based in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. Their home ground was the Multan Cricket Stadium. They participated in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. For List A and Twenty20 cricket the team were known as the Multan Tigers and they participate in the various Pakistan List A competitions and in the Faysal Bank T20 Cup.
