Donald Mullett
Donald Leopold Mullett (April 10, 1929 – April 19, 2013) was an American educator and academic administrator who served as interim president at three historically black universities: Lincoln University (Pennsylvania), Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, and Lincoln University (Missouri). Early life and education Mullett was born and raised in New York City, youngest of four children of Festus and Josephine Mullett. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1947 and received a BA in mathematics from Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) in 1951, an MBA from New York University in 1952, and a PhD in urban economics from the University of Delaware in 1981. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Career Mullett began his career in 1954 at the United Mutual Life Insurance Company in New York City, where he rose through the ranks to become vice president and assistant treasurer. John Mullett
John Mullett (1786–1862) was a prominent surveyor based in Detroit, Michigan in the early 19th century. Under the Public Land Survey System, he was surveyor-general for the Northwest Territories and as such, assisted or led "in many of the government's original surveys of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana," and especially in Michigan. Early life Mullett was born to a large family in Halifax, Vermont on July 11, 1786. In 1807, the family moved to Genesee County, New York and dabbled in farming and the craft of tailoring. Mullett served as an officer in the War of 1812, but only saw action in the Battle of Buffalo. Col. Mullett came to Detroit from Buffalo, New York in 1818, and moved from tailoring to mathematics and surveying. Margaret Mullett
Margaret Elizabeth Mullett ( OBE ) (1946-) is Professor Emerita of Byzantine Studies at Queen's University Belfast. She is a former director of Byzantine Studies at Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington, D.C., the foremost centre for the study of Byzantium in North America. Mullett is a leading proponent of a more theoretical approach to Byzantine studies and Byzantine texts. Education Mullett read Medieval History and Medieval Latin at Birmingham University. She received her PhD from the Centre for Byzantine Studies, Birmingham University, in 1981. Her dissertation was entitled, ''Theophylact Through His Letters: the Two Worlds of an Exile Bishop''. Mullett Township is a civil township of Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,312 at the 2010 census. Both the township and Mullett Lake are named for John Mullett, who surveyed much of the area between 1840 and 1843. When Mullett Township was created by the Michigan Legislature, it was spelled Mullet—a spelling that was widely used in early maps and documents. Mullett Lake is a lake in Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The lake is named after John Mullett, who, together with William A. Burt, made a federal survey of the area from 1840 to 1843. A neighboring lake was named after Burt. Historically, Mullett Lake has been recorded as Mullet Lake, Mullet's Lake, and Mullett's Lake on maps and documents. Description of lake Major inflows to the lake are the Indian River, which connects with nearby Burt Lake, Pigeon River, Little Pigeon River, and Mullett Creek. The Cheboygan River flows out of the northeast end of the lake. The lake is part of the Inland Waterway, by which one can boat from Crooked Lake and Round Lake near the Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan across the northern tip of the Lower Peninsula to Cheboygan on Lake Huron.
