Mr. Keen, Tracer Of Lost Persons
''Mr. Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons'' was one of radio's longest running shows, airing October 12, 1937 to April 19, 1955, continuing well into the television era. It was produced by Frank Hummert, Frank and Anne Hummert, who based it upon Robert W. Chambers' 1906 novel ''The Tracer of Lost Persons''. The sponsors included Whitehall Pharmacal (as in Anacin, Kolynos, Kolynos Toothpaste, BiSoDol antacid mints, Hill's cold tablets and Heet liniment), Dentyne, Aerowax, RCA Victor and Chesterfield (cigarette), Chesterfield cigarettes. It aired on the NBC Blue network until 1947, when it switched to CBS. Characters and story William Bennett Kilpack, Bennett Kilpack began as Mr. Keen in 1937 with Arthur Hughes (American actor), Arthur Hughes and then Phil Clarke stepping into the role later in the series. Bob And Ray
Bob and Ray were an American comedy duo whose career spanned five decades, composed of comedians Bob Elliott (1923–2016) and Ray Goulding (1922–1990). The duo's format was typically to satirize the medium in which they were performing, such as conducting radio or television interviews, with off-the-wall dialogue presented in a generally deadpan style as though it were a serious broadcast. Radio Elliott and Goulding began as radio announcers (Elliott a disc jockey and Goulding a newscaster) in Boston with their own separate programs on station WHDH, and each would visit with the other while on the air. Their informal banter was so appealing that WHDH would call on them, as a team, to fill in when Red Sox baseball broadcasts were rained out. ''The Jackie Gleason Show'' is the name of a series of American network television shows that starred Jackie Gleason, which ran from 1952 to 1970, in various forms. ''Cavalcade of Stars'' Gleason's first variety series, which aired on the DuMont Television Network under the title ''Cavalcade of Stars'', first aired June 4, 1949. The show's first host was comedian Jack Carter, who was followed by Jerry Lester. Lester jumped to NBC in June 1950 to host the late-night show ''Broadway Open House'', and Gleason—who had made his mark filling in for William Bendix as the title character on the first television incarnation of ''The Life of Riley'' sitcom—stepped into ''Cavalcade'' on July 15, 1950 and became an immediate sensation. Paul Edward Lynde (; June 13, 1926January 10, 1982) was an American comedian, actor and game show panelist. ''Bye Bye Birdie'' is a stage musical with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams, based upon a book by Michael Stewart. Originally titled ''Let's Go Steady'', ''Bye Bye Birdie'' is set in 1958. The short story "Dream Man", authored by Bill Doyle, which appeared in the May 18, 1957, issue of the ''Saturday Evening Post'' may well have been the genesis of the eventual stageplay.
