Movement Of Democratic Action
The Movement of Democratic Action ( Bosnian: ''Pokret demokratske akcije'' or PDA) is a conservative political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. History The party was founded by Mirsad Kukić in 2018. After Kukić was removed from the SDA Cantonal committee of Tuzla canton, because he worked against the party's by-law, he announced he would be making his own party named ''Movement of Democratic Action.'' He accused SDA of not working in the interest of the people of Tuzla canton, rather that they were only "working for personal gains". The PDA claims that it will work based on the ideas of former SDA presidents Alija Izetbegović and Sulejman Tihić. In the 2018 general elections, the PDA managed to obtain 38,417 (2.32%) votes and one seat in the House of Representatives. Bosniak Nationalism
Bosniak nationalism ( bs, bošnjački nacionalizam) or Bosniakdom ( bs, bošnjaštvo) is the nationalism that asserts the nationality of Bosniaks and promotes the cultural unity of the Bosniaks. It should not be confused with Bosnian nationalism ( bs, bosanski nacionalizam), often referred to as Bosniandom ( bs, bosanstvo), as Bosniaks are treated as a constituent people by the preamble of Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas people who identify as Bosnians for nationality are not. Bosniaks were formerly called Muslims in census data but this model was last used in the 1991 census. Bosnian (; / , ) is the standardized variety of the Serbo-Croatian pluricentric language mainly used by ethnic Bosniaks. Bosnian is one of three such varieties considered official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with Croatian and Serbian. It is also an officially recognized minority language in Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Kosovo. Bosnian uses both the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets, with Latin in everyday use. It is notable among the varieties of Serbo-Croatian for a number of Arabic, Persian and Turkish loanwords, largely due to the language's interaction with those cultures through Islamic ties. Sulejman Tihić
Sulejman Tihić (26 November 1951 – 25 September 2014) was a Bosnian politician who served as the 4th Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2006. He was a member and later president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA). From 2007 until his death in 2014, Tihić served as member of the national House of Peoples. Born in Bosanski Šamac, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo in 1975. Following his graduation, Tihić worked as a judge, prosecutor and a lawyer. During the Bosnian War of 1992–95, he was captured by Serb soldiers and was tortured in concentration camps in both Bosnia and Serbia. Following the war, Tihić entered into politics. Alija Izetbegović (; ; 8 August 1925 – 19 October 2003) was a Bosnian politician, lawyer, Islamic philosopher and author, who in 1992 became the first president of the Presidency of the newly independent Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
