The Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers men's soccer team represents Mount St. Mary's University participating in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The sport was discontinued following the 2012 season for financial reasons but resumed in 2018. Bryan Cunningham
Bryan Cunningham is the head men's soccer coach at the Mount St. Mary's University. He is restarting a program that had been dormant since 2012 and will return to competition in 2018. He had been head coach at the University of Central Florida since 2007. His 2007 team tied a school record with 3 conference wins, and set a school mark with its highest positioning in Conference USA at 3rd. From 2005 to 2007, he was an assistant coach at UCF, and was the head recruiting coordinator at the school. He also served as an assistant coach at Appalachian State University, and the University of South Carolina. He played college soccer at Pfeiffer University where he was a three-time captain. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, ) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Of its current 11 full members, 10 are located in three states of the northeastern United States: Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. The other member is in Maryland. Members are all relatively small private institutions, a majority Catholic or formerly Catholic, with the only exceptions being two secular institutions: Rider University and Quinnipiac University. The MAAC currently sponsors 25 sports and has 17 associate member institutions. Mark Mettrick
Mark Mettrick (born October 3, 1964) is an English-American former soccer player who played four seasons as a midfielder in the Major Indoor Soccer League and three in the USISL. He is currently the head coach of Gettysburg College. Player Mettrick grew up in Manchester, England, playing in the Manchester United youth system from 1982 to 1984. Mettrick was offered a spot in the Manchester United reserve team, but chose to attend Hartwick College where he was a member of the men's soccer team from 1984 to 1987. During his four seasons with the Hawks, they went to two NCAA Final Fours. He finished his career with forty-six career goals and earned first team All American recognition in 1985 and 1987. Mettrick was inducted into the Hartwick Athletic Hall of Fame on September 20, 1997. He graduated in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in physics. Rob Ryerson
Rob Ryerson is a retired U.S. soccer forward who played professionally, both indoor and outdoor soccer, for at least seven years. He last coached the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers men's soccer program before it disbanded in 2012. Player Youth Rob Ryerson, along with his brother Rich, attended Oakland Mills High School where he played for the school's boys soccer team. He was selected as the Howard County "Player of the Year". He was also a high school All-American his senior year. Ryerson played four seasons of collegiate soccer while attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He was All Far West in 1983, 1984 and 1985. He was also the 1985 All Big West Player of the Year. He was a third team NSCAA All-American in 1984 and 1985 and a Soccer America Magazine first team All American in 1985. 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Season
The 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 60th season of NCAA championship men's college soccer. The regular season began on August 24, 2018 and continued into the first weekend of November 2018. The season culminated with the four-team College Cup at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California, December 7–9, 2018. There were 206 teams in men's Division I competition. Mark Murphy (born April 19, 1984 in Clinton, Maryland) is an American professional soccer player currently playing for Crystal Palace Baltimore in the USSF Division 2 Professional League.
