Motława (ship)
The ''Motława'' is a small passenger ferry operating on the river Motława in Gdańsk, Poland. History The island Ołowianka on the river Motława is now connected by two bridges to the river banks. It is believed that since 1687 there has been a ferry between the island and the city. The Ship The ferry is built as a double-ended. On each side of a gangway is carried, allowing the passengers embarking and disembarking. The ferry has a single deck accessible to people outside, which is covered and offers some seating. Motława
Motława (; csb, Mòtława) is a river in Pomerelia, Eastern Pomerania in Poland. The source is in Szpęgawskie Lake, northeast from the town of Starogard Gdański. It goes through Rokickie Lake to Martwa Wisła, a branch of the Vistula. The total length of the river is estimated at 68 km, with an area of 1511.3 km². The city of Gdańsk is situated at its mouth in the Martwa Wisła. In Gdańsk, the Motława (ship), Motława ferry crosses the river, a service that has run since the year 1687. The National Maritime Museum in Gdańsk ( pl, Narodowe Muzeum Morskie) is a maritime museum in Gdańsk, Poland, established on 1 January 1962. It is dedicated to gathering, researching and preserving artifacts and documents concerning ship transport, international trade, fishing and culture of people working at sea, rivers and those ashore – as well as the dissemination of knowledge on maritime history of Poland and its economy through the ages.
