Most (1969 Film)
''The Bridge'' ( sh, / ) is a 1969 Yugoslav film that takes place during World War II. Partisans mine a heavily guarded bridge held by Nazi forces, to check a German offensive. The movie was directed by Hajrudin Krvavac, and stars Velimir 'Bata' Živojinović, Slobodan Perović, Boris Dvornik and Igor Galo. Plot In 1944, Standartenführer Hoffmann is assigned as extra security for a vital bridge near the Yugoslavian border with Greece as German forces are pulling out of the latter country. He wants to take a proactive approach towards Yugoslav Partisan threats but Oberst von Felsen, whom Hoffman is reinforcing, disagrees. Meanwhile, the Partisans want to destroy the bridge to prevent German troops from entering and foiling a planned operation with 5,000 men. Hajrudin Krvavac
Hajrudin "Šiba" Krvavac (22 December 1926 – 11 July 1992) was a Bosnian film director most notable for directing movies from the Partisan film genre during 1960s and 70s. His gift for precise storytelling was visible in his early documentaries and would become a staple of his feature films later on. Starting with his directorial debut, the segment ''Otac (Father)'' of the anthology film ''Vrtlog'' (''Vortex'', 1964), all his feature films are action films set in World War II. Their storytelling owes a lot to comic books and American action films, especially westerns, with an imaginative combination of action and emotions, personal drama and epic tragedy, idealised heroism and psychological trials, sometimes with a dose of humor. Because of the style of his films, Krvavac was sometimes compared to Howard Hawks. Werner Vorndran (24 April 1922 – 1 May 2009), known professionally as Fred Delmare, was a German actor. Life and work Werner Vorndran was the son of a carpenter and a seamstress and grew up in Hüttensteinach at Sonneberg in Thuringia, where as an adolescent he appeared on a peasant stage. After his time in the Volksschule he learned the trade of a tool and die maker. As military volunteer he went to the marine in Bremerhaven. At the local municipal theatre he took his first drama lessons with the theatre manager Karl Georg Saebisch 1940 and 1941 and worked as background actor in an operette production. Hannjo Hasse (31 August 1921 – 5 February 1983) was an East German actor. Biography Hasse began studying acting in 1938, and attended Lily Ackermann's Institute for Stage Artists' Education in Berlin. At 1941, he was drafted for the Labour Service, and later to the Army. After the end of the Second World War and his release from captivity, Hasse returned to Weimar, where he spent another six months to complete his drama training. He made his debut on stage in the Nordhausen Theater, where he was also employed as a dramaturgue. Later, he also worked in theaters in Eisleben, Burg bei Magdeburg and Schwerin, before settling in the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam, in which he was a member of the regular cast between 1954 and 1962. Afterwards, he moved to Berlin's Volksbühne, and then to the Deutsches Theater. Hasse played a wide range of supporting characters, from Malvolio to the Fledermaus. Execution by firing squad, in the past sometimes called fusillading (from the French ''fusil'', rifle), is a method of capital punishment, particularly common in the military and in times of war.
