Moscow City Duma District 38 is one of 45 constituencies in Moscow City Duma. The constituency covers eastern half of New Moscow, as well as parts of Prospekt Vernadskogo and Troparyovo-Nikulino. District 38 was created in 2013, after Moscow City Duma had been expanded from 35 to 45 seats. 2014 Moscow City Duma Election
Election to the 6th convocation of the Moscow City Duma took place on the United Voting Day on September 14, 2014. The elections were held in full by the majority system, 45 deputies were elected in 45 single-member constituencies (previously there were 35 deputies in the Duma) out of 258 candidates. The term of the new Duma will be five years. The elections were held on September 14 on more than 3,500 ballots in the city. The final results were announced on September 16, 2014. 17 deputies from the previous City Duma retained their seats. After processing 100% of the ballots, the leaders of the vote were: 28 people nominated by the United Russia party, 5 by the Communist Party, 1 by the LDPR, 1 by Rodina, and 10 by self-nominees supported by United Russia. Igor Vladimirovich Glek (russian: Игорь Владимирович Глек; born 7 November 1961) is a Russian chess player, trainer, writer and theorist. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 1990. Glek was born in Moscow. Completing his University of Moscow engineering/economics qualification in 1983, he worked as an economist until 1986 and followed this with two years of military service in the Soviet Army. From 1989, he was able to concentrate on chess, becoming first a professional player, then a grandmaster in 1990. In 1994 he moved to Essen, Germany. Election to the 7th convocation of the Moscow City Duma took place on the United Voting Day on 8 September 2019. The elections were held in a first-past-the-post system: 45 deputies were elected in 45 single-member constituencies. The term of the new Duma will be five years. Background and preparations The Moscow City Election Commission organizes 3,616 polling stations, of which 3,440 - at the places of residence, 176 - at places of temporary residence (hospitals, sanatoriums, places of temporary detention of suspects and accused, and other places of temporary stay). The Moscow City Duma (russian: Московская городская дума, Moskovskaya gorodskaya duma) is the Regional parliaments of Russia, regional parliament (city duma) of Moscow, a federal subjects of Russia, federal subject and the capital city of Russia.
