''Mosby's Confederacy'' is a 2008 turn based strategy and real time tactics video game by Tilted Mill Entertainment. Overview In ''Mosby’s Confederacy'' the player plays as John S. Mosby and commands small bands of skirmishers, scouts and guerilla fighters on opportunistic missions to scout, ambush, steal supplies and harass larger and better armed forces of Union soldiers. Development ''Mosby's Confederacy'' was first announced for development on October 6, 2008, with a release date set tentatively for later in the fall. Tilted Mill Entertainment is a video game developer located in Winchester, Massachusetts. It was founded in 2001 by former Impressions Games lead designer and general manager Chris Beatrice, business manager Peter Haffenreffer, and designer Jeff Fiske. The studio is known for its city-building games. The company has employed 20 staff in design, programming, creative, and administrative roles. Tilted Mill is a reference to Don Quixote ("Tilting at windmills"). Tilted Mill developed the fifth game of the '' SimCity series'', titled ''SimCity Societies'' (all previous titles had been developed by Maxis). The game, however, was criticized for its lack of the traditional ''SimCity'' gaming formula. In video and other games, the passage of time must be handled in a way that players find fair and easy to understand. This is usually done in one of the two ways: real-time and turn-based. Real-time Real-time games have game time progress continuously according to the game clock. GameDaily (GD) was a video game journalism website based in the United States. It was launched in 1995 by entrepreneur Mark Friedler under the name Gigex and focused on free game demo downloads. The site changed its business model from a flat fee per download CDN distributed service network to an advertising-based games content portal, content syndication and vertical ad network. The site also operated business news service GameDaily Biz. The network grew to the number one position in ComScore's Games/Gaming Information category in March 2005 and was acquired by AOL on August 16, 2006. ''Hinterland'' is a high fantasy role-playing video game with city-building elements by Tilted Mill Entertainment. It was released on September 30, 2008 on the Steam content delivery system, and has since been made available at other digital distribution websites. ''Hinterland: Orc Lords'', a cumulative expansion, was released to digital distribution and retail in March 2009. As the title suggests, the primary addition to the game was the ability to play as Orc characters.
