Morteza Keyvan
Morteza Keyvan ( fa, مرتضی کیوان; 1921, Isfahan – 19 October 1954, Tehran) was an Iranian poet, art critic, newspaper editor and political activist of the Tudeh Party of Iran. Keyvan married Puri Soltani in 1953. After the coup d'état of 1953, Keyvan was arrested by the Pahlavi regime for hiding three fellow Tudeh Party members of the Tudeh Military Network in his house and later sentenced to death on accounts of "treason". He was executed by firing squad the same year on 19 October in the Qasr prison. Keyvan was a friend and associate of many left-wing poets and writers of his time such as Ahmad Shamlou, Nima Youshij, Siavash Kasrai, Houshang Ebtehaj and many others. Murtaza or Morteza or Mortaza, a Persianate form of the Arabic Murtada or Murtadha ( ar, مرتضى, translit=Murtaḍā, lit=One Pleasing to God, label=none), is a common Muslim name. Pronunciation varies with accent, from native Arabic speakers to speakers of European and Asian languages. Siavash Kasrai
Siavash Kasrai ( fa, سیاوش کسرائی; February 25, 1927 – February 8, 1996) was an Iranian poet, literary critic and novelist. He is well-known for his epic poem of Arash the Archer written in the late 1950s. An active supporter of the Communist Tudeh Party of Iran from the late 1940s to the mid 1980s, he distanced himself from its leadership in 1988–1990, and turned into an outspoken critic in the mid 1990s. Life Siavash Kasrai was born on February 25, 1927, in Isfahan, Iran, into a family of officials, some (his uncle Abdol-Karim Kasrai in particular) with a serious interest in literature. Tudeh Party Of Iran Members
The Tudeh Party of Iran ( fa-at, حزب تودۀ ایران, Ḥezb-e Tūde-ye Īrān, lit=Party of the Masses of Iran) is an Iranian communist party. Formed in 1941, with Soleiman Mirza Eskandari as its head, it had considerable influence in its early years and played an important role during Mohammad Mosaddegh's campaign to nationalize the Anglo-Persian Oil Company and his term as prime minister. The crackdown that followed the 1953 coup against Mosaddegh is said to have "destroyed" the party,Abrahamian, Ervand, ''A History of Modern Iran'', p.122 although a remnant persisted. The party still exists but has remained much weaker as a result of its banning in Iran and mass arrests by the Islamic Republic in 1982, as well as the executions of political prisoners in 1988. Ehsan Tabari
Ehsan Tabari ( fa, احسان طبری; 8 February 1917 – 29 April 1989) was an Iranian philosopher, poet, and a literary giant who played a major role in modernization in literature and cultural enlightenment in the twentieth century in Iran. He also fostered a deep understanding of Marxist philosophy in Iran. A founding member and theoretician of the Tudeh Party of Iran, he was an active participant in the advancement of the political process whose aim was social progress and elimination of economic disparity in twentieth-century Iran. Tabari was born in 1917 in Sari, Mazandaran, Iran. Tabari was fluent in eight languages, and he wrote and translated poetry and did research in linguistics. He returned to Iran in 1979 after the overthrow of the Shah, but was arrested in 1983 along with other leaders of the Tudeh Party of Iran. Amir Hushang Ebtehaj ( fa, امیر هوشنگ ابتهاج; 25 February 1928 – 10 August 2022), also known by his pen name H. E. Sayeh ( fa, ه.ا.سایه, lit. ''Shadow''), was an Iranian poet of the 20th century, whose life and work spans many of Iran's political, cultural and literary upheavals. Life Ebtehaj was born 25 February 1928 in Rasht in a prominent Baha'i family in Iran and had his primary schooling there before moving to Tehran. His first book of poetry, with an introduction by eminent poet Mehdi Hamidi Shirazi, was published when he was 19 years old.
