Montse Cortés
Montserrat Cortés Fernández (Barcelona, 1972) is a Spanish Roma flamenco singer, artistically known as Montse Cortés. Her discography includes, ''Alabanza'' (Sony, 2000), ''La rosa blanca'' (Sony BMG, 2004) and ''Flamencas en la sombra'' (Universal Music Group, 2014). Biography Montse Cortés grew up in the La Mina neighborhood of Sant Adrià de Besòs. Her family had removed to Barcelona from Granada. She started singing in the Barcelona tablaos accompanying the flamenco dance. This is how the choreographer Antonio Canales discovered Cortés and incorporated her into his company, where she remained for five years before deciding to record her first solo album, ''Alabanza'' (2000), for which she was nominated at the 2nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Among others, she has shared the stage with La Paquera de Jerez. She has sung for dancers such as Sara Baras, Juan de Juan, and Joaquín Cortés, and has accompanied the guitarist Paco de Lucía. Sara Baras
Sara Pereyra Baras (born April 25, 1971) is a Spanish flamenco dancer and choreographer born in San Fernando (Cádiz) who has established her own dance company. Biography Sara was born in San Fernando, in the province of Cádiz, in 1971, where she began her dance studies at her mother’s school, Concha Baras. Shortly after, she joined the company Los Niños de la Tertulia Flamenca, with which she toured the flamenco festivals of Barcelona. When she was 24 she entered Manuel Morao’s company and performed at the festival Teatro Flamenco Alhambra 89 in Granada. That same year, she was awarded the first prize in "Gente Joven" Spanish television contest. In 1991, with Manuel Morao’s company, she acted for two months at the Edouard VII Theater in Paris. Women have made significant contributions to Latin music, a genre which predates Italian explorer Christopher Columbus' arrival in Latin America in 1492 and the Spanish colonization of the Americas. Juan Gandulla known as Habichuela (maternal surname according to sources: Padilla or Gómez and nicknamed "Habichuela") (b. Cadiz; 1860s or 1871 - f. Madrid; 1925 or 1927) was a Spanish flamenco guitarist. He began in Cadiz and soon switched between his hometown and Seville. He was a disciple of the master José González Patiño and replaced Javier Molina in the Salón Filarmónico and soon directed a flamenco group.
