Montenegro Women's National Basketball Team
The Montenegro women's national basketball team represents Montenegro in international women's basketball tournaments. The supervising body is the Basketball Federation of Montenegro. The Montenegrin women's national team entered international competition in 2008, playing their first official match on 27 August, against Republic of Ireland in Bijelo Polje (68–56). The Montenegrin women's team participated at the EuroBasket Women four times – 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017 reaching the quarterfinals twice. It operates the top-level Opportunity League for men's clubs. History In 2003, the federation became part of Serbia and Montenegro's Serbia and Montenegro national basketball team, basketball federation. Basketball At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's basketball tournament at the 2012 Olympic Games in London began on 28 July and ended on 11 August. All preliminary and quarterfinal games were held at the Basketball Arena within the Olympic Park, and the semifinal and the medal games were held at the North Greenwich Arena (renamed from The O2 Arena due to the no commercialization policy). The 2019 EuroBasket Women, European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2019, was the 37th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. The tournament was co-held in Riga, Latvia and Belgrade, Serbia from 27 June to 7 July 2019. Spain won their second consecutive and fourth overall title after defeating France 86–66 in the final.
