The Mont d'Ambin Base Tunnel, also known as the Mont Cenis Base Tunnel, is the largest engineering work of the Lyon–Turin rail link project. The Turin–Lyon high-speed railway is an international rail line under construction between the cities of Turin and Lyon. It is intended to link the High-speed rail in Italy, Italian and TGV, French high-speed rail networks and will be long. Lyon Turin Ferroviaire
Lyon Turin Ferroviaire (LTF), a subsidiary of Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), was the early developer of the joint French-Italian part of the future rail link between Lyon and Turin. It has now been replaced in that role by Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin (TELT), with the same staff and leadership. The Yulhyeon Tunnel is a railway tunnel in South Korea, which opened in December 2016, and is currently the world's fourth longest railway tunnel at 50.3 kilometers. The tunnel, which consists of a double-track tube, is part of the 61.1-kilometer Suseo–Pyeongtaek high-speed railway that connects Suseo station in the southeastern part of Seoul with the Gyeongbu high-speed railway. An adit (from Latin ''aditus'', entrance) is an entrance to an underground mine which is horizontal or nearly horizontal, by which the mine can be entered, drained of water, ventilated, and minerals extracted at the lowest convenient level. Adits are also used to explore for mineral veins.
