Monster Collection
Monster Collection (モンスター・コレクション. otherwise known as Mon-Colle (モンコレ)) is an out-of-print trading card game developed by Group SNE. Monster Collection was first published in 1997 by Fujimi Shobo. In 2000, Monster Collection 2 was released. It was acquired by Bushiroad in August 2011. Monster Collection was later expanded to a roleplaying game and was the basis for the anime series ''Mon Colle Knights''. The Monster Collection game universe is a world connected to six gates of fire, water, earth, wind, good, and evil, representing East, South, West, North, Heaven and Earth. Player acts as a summoner, which engages in combat using summoned monsters. Rules The game is a one-on-one card game, set in a 3×4 grid. One side declared as winner by capturing opponent's headquarter. Each monster has fire, water, earth, wind, good, or evil element. Group SNE
Group SNE is a Japanese company founded in 1986 by the current president Hitoshi Yasuda, which produces role-playing games, light novels, board games and card games. Ryo Mizuno was one of the founding members. Group SNE is named after Syntax Error, the programming language BASIC's term. The most famous product of Group SNE is ''Record of Lodoss War'', which is well known for its fantasy anime adaptation. Moreover, there are several anime adaptations based upon Group SNE's products such as ''Legend of Crystania'', ''Mon Colle Knights'' and ''Rune Soldier''. Fujimi Shobo
, formerly , was a Japanese publisher that specialized in light novels, manga, role-playing games and collectible card games. Founded in 1972 and reorganized three times, it was at times an independent company and at times an imprint of Kadokawa Future Publishing. It ceased to be an independent company in 2013, and the brand was retired in 2015. A collectible card game (CCG), also called a trading card game (TCG) among other names, is a type of card game that mixes strategy game, strategic deck building elements with features of trading cards, introduced with ''Magic: The Gathering'' in 1993. Mon Colle Knights
''Mon Colle Knights'', known in Japan as , is a Japanese manga series written by Satoru Akahori and Katsumi Hasegawa and illustrated by Hideaki Nishikawa. The original concept was made by Hitoshi Yasuda and Group SNE. The series is based on the Monster Collection trading card game. An anime television series adaptation animated by Studio Deen aired on TV Tokyo from January to December 2000 and consisted of 51 episodes and one film. The Saban Capital Group, Saban-produced ''Mon Colle Knights'' aired on Fox Kids in North America from July 2001 to September 2002, consisting of 45 episodes. Ryūsuke Mita
is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of ''Dragon Half'', which was adapted into an OVA series animated by Production I.G by the same name. He also illustrates Futabasha game books under the pen name . Mita's father is Munesuke Mita, a well-known Japanese sociologist, and his grandfather was Sekisuke Mita, a Marxist economist. He is married to manga creator Chiaki Ogishima, who drew the manga adaptation of ''Heat Guy J''. They also work together under the name, Aya Hanagatami (花筐絢) and create adult manga marketed towards women. Dragon Half
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ryūsuke Mita. The manga was serialized in Fujimi Shobo‘s ''Dragon Magazine'' from January 30, 1988 to April 30, 1994 and the chapters collected into 7 ''tankōbon'' volumes. It was adapted into a 2-episode OVA series animated by Production I.G in 1993. ADV Films had previously licensed the anime series in North America. Discotek Media has since re-licensed the OVAs for a DVD release in 2014. The manga has been licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. The story follows Mink, a half human/half dragon teenage girl on a quest for a potion which will turn her into a full human so that she can win the love of the legendary dragon slayer/crooner Dick Saucer.
