''Monsoon'' is a 1952 American drama film directed by Rod Amateau and written by Leo Townsend and Forrest Judd, David Robinson and Leonardo Bercovici. The film stars Ursula Thiess, Diana Douglas, George Nader, Ellen Corby, Philip Stainton, Myron Healey and Eric Pohlmann. It was released on December 14, 1952 by United Artists. Plot A young woman named Julia brings her fiancé and his mother to a village in India to meet her father and brother. Hospitality proves in short supply and things take a turn for the worse when Julia's seductive younger sister arrives. Ursula Thiess
Ursula Thiess (May 15, 1924 – June 19, 2010) was a German film actress who had a brief Hollywood career in the 1950s. Thiess began her career on the stage in her native Germany and by dubbing female voices in American films as Ursula Schmidt. After she married Georg Otto Thiess, she became Ursula Thiess and was featured in many German magazines, including several cover photos, as well as the cover of ''Life'' magazine, 1954, as an up-and-coming model, and she was dubbed the "most beautiful woman in the world." She left postwar Germany at the urging of Howard Hughes and signed with RKO. She co-starred with Robert Stack in ''The Iron Glove'' (1952), Rock Hudson in ''Bengal Brigade'' (1954), Glenn Ford in '' The Americano'' (1955), and Robert Mitchum in '' Bandido'' (1956). Rod Amateau
Rodney Amateau (December 20, 1923 – June 29, 2003) was an American film and television screenwriter, director, and producer. Career Among the programs that he directed were ''The Dennis Day Show'', ''The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show'', ''The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis'', ''Mister Ed'', ''Gilligan's Island'', ''The Bob Cummings Show'' and ''The New Phil Silvers Show''. He produced ''My Mother the Car'' and '' Supertrain'', and wrote the story for the 1988 film ''Sunset''. Amateau also directed a few episodes of ''The Dukes of Hazzard'', and appeared in a handful of episodes as an actor as well.
