Moncho Fernández
Ramon Fernández Vidal, known as Moncho Fernández (born 19 September 1969 in Santiago de Compostela), is a Spanish basketball manager and the current coach of Monbus Obradoiro of the Liga ACB. He is nicknamed as ''The Alchemist''. Coaching career Fernández started his coaching career with Moncho López as the assistant coach of Gijón Baloncesto in 2000. After the relegation of the club from Liga ACB in the 2001–02, he took the lead of the club during the next two seasons. In 2005, Fernández came back to Liga ACB, again as assistant of Moncho López, this time to Leche Río Breogán. He left the club after a new relegation, for joining CB Villa de Los Barrios, of the LEB Oro league, as head coach. He qualified the Andalusians to a LEB Oro Final Four in 2009. Just after being defeated in the semifinals, the club would be dissolved and consequently, López left it. Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. 2010–11 LEB Oro Season
The 2010–11 LEB Oro season is the 15th season of the Liga Española de Baloncesto. It's named too Adecco Oro by sponsorship reasons. The 306-game regular season (34 games for each of the 18 teams) began on Friday, October 1, 2010, and will end on Friday, April 15, 2011. The champion of the regular season will be promoted to Liga ACB. The teams between 2nd and 9th position will play a best of 5 games play off, where the winner will be promoted too to the higher division. The teams 16th and 17th will play a best of 5 games play-out where the loser will be relegated to LEB Plata, with the 18th team.
