Moments (Barbara Mandrell Album)
''Moments'' is the 17th solo studio album released by American country artist Barbara Mandrell. The album was released in August 1986 on MCA Records and was produced by Tom Collins. It would be her final studio release for the MCA label before signing with EMI America Records in 1987. Background ''Moments'' was recorded in June 1986 in Nashville, Tennessee, two months before its official release. ''Moments'' contained 10 tracks of newly recorded material. Mandrell's musical style and sound changed for the album, as most of its tracks had a significant traditional country music approach, as traditional musical styles were reentering country music. This was exemplified in songs such as the sixth track, "No One Mends a Broken Heart Like You". The collection was issued as an LP album, with five songs on each side of the record. Barbara Ann Mandrell (born December 25, 1948) is an American country music singer and musician. She is also credited as an actress and author. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, she was considered among country's most successful music artists. She had six number one singles and 25 top ten singles reach the ''Billboard'' country songs chart. She also hosted her own prime–time television show in the early 1980s that featured music, dance numbers and comedy sketches. Mandrell also played a variety of musical instruments during her career that helped earn her a series of major–industry awards. Mandrell was born in Texas and raised mostly in California. Mandrell is from a musical family; she played several instruments by the time she was a teenager. Her skills on the steel guitar were noticed by country music entertainers, who gave Mandrell the chance to perform in public at age 13. Paul Craft
Paul Charles Craft (August 12, 1938 – October 18, 2014) was an American country singer-songwriter. The Memphis-born Craft was known as the songwriter for Mark Chesnutt's single "Brother Jukebox", and the novelty song "It's Me Again, Margaret", recorded by Ray Stevens, and Craft himself. Between 1977 and 1978, Craft charted three singles on RCA Nashville. His song "Keep Me From Blowing Away" was originally recorded by The Seldom Scene on their 1973 album ''Act II'' and was then recorded by Linda Ronstadt on her 1974 album ''Heart Like a Wheel'', and has since been recorded by Moe Bandy, T. Graham Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Grascals and Willie Nelson. His song "Midnight Flyer" was recorded by the Eagles. His song "Dropkick Me, Jesus" was a No. 17 country hit for Bobby Bare in 1976. John Wesley Ryles
John Wesley Ryles (born December 2, 1950) is an American country music artist. Ryles recorded a string of hit country songs, beginning in 1968 when he was still a teenager, and continuing through the 1980s. He no longer records as a headline artist but remains active in the music industry as a session musician. Biography At age 17, he made his debut in 1968 with the single " Kay", a Top Ten hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles (now Hot Country Songs) charts, and the title track to his debut album for Columbia Records.
