Middle Dutch
Middle Dutch is a collective name for a number of closely related West Germanic dialects whose ancestor was Old Dutch. It was spoken and written between 1150 and 1500. Until the advent of Modern Dutch after 1500 or c. 1550, there was no overarching standard language, but all dialects were mutually intelligible. During that period, a rich Medieval Dutch literature developed, which had not yet existed during Old Dutch. The various literary works of the time are often very readable for speakers of Modern Dutch since Dutch is a rather conservative language. Adrien Rene Moerman (born 7 August 1988) is a French professional basketball player who plays for BC Zenit Saint Petersburg of the VTB United League. He is also a member of the senior French national team. Early years Moerman was born in Fontenay-aux-Roses. He played youth age basketball with the French clubs Levallois Sporting Club Basket, from 2001 to 2003, and Chorale Roanne Basket, from 2003 to 2005. Moerman Therapy
The Moerman Therapy, also called Moerman Method or Moerman Diet is a purported cancer treatment from the Dutch practitioner (1893–1988). Its effectiveness is supported by anecdote only – there is no evidence of its worth as a cancer treatment. History Moerman who experimented with pigeons in the 1930s argued that he had identified "mysterious suppressors" of the cancer cell and there are "eight essential substances" that maintain human health. He claimed that deficiency of these substances leads to metabolic disturbances and anomalies of regeneration tissue that enable microorganisms which he termed "symbionts" to convert healthy cells into cancer cells. Daniel Ellis Moerman (born 1941) is an American medical anthropologist and ethnobotanist, and an emeritus professor of anthropology at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He is known for his work relating to Native American ethnobotany and the placebo effect. Education and career Moerman was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He received his AB, MA and PhD degrees in anthropology from the University of Michigan in 1963, 1965, and 1974, respectively. He became a professor of anthropology at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1984, and was appointed the William E. Stirton Professor of Anthropology at the university in 1994. Morman
Morman (also spelled Morvan, Morwan, or Moruuan) (died 818) was a Breton chieftain who was declared king (''rex'') after the death of the Bretons' Frankish overlord Charlemagne in 814. He is the first person known by name to be described as a Breton "king". He probably ruled a warband with members drawn from throughout Brittany. He had a stronghold defended by ditches, hedges and marshes. Morman had been a faithful follower of Charlemagne, having sworn oaths to him and performed the giving of hands, probably becoming his '' vassus'', although the Bretons rose up in rebellion in 811. Morman's rebellion against Frankish lordship in 814 threatened the integrity of Charlemagne's empire, recently inherited by Louis the Pious.
