Modern is the sixth studio album recorded by Amber Smith. The album was released on 6 April 2015 by the German Kalinkaland Records. This was the first record with guitarist Tamás Faragó and bassist Oleg Zubkov. This was the first record without former Amber Smith bass guitarist Oszkár Ács. Amber Smith (band)
Amber Smith are a Hungarian pop trio based in Budapest, Hungary formed in 2000 by Imre Poniklo. The band's current line-up is Imre Poniklo (vocals, guitars), Oleg Zubkov a.k.a. Tooff (bass) and Bence Bátor (drums). Amber Smith were one of the most prominent groups of the Budapest indie music scene in the 2000s. History Amber Smith were formed by singer-songwriter Imre Poniklo in 2000 as a side-project in Budapest, Hungary. Imre Poniklo was the guitarist of the Hungarian alternative band Fanzine. At that time the singer of the Fanzine was José Simon, a professional graphic designer, who is currently the stylist of Amber Smith. In 2000 Imre Poniklo asked his fellow Fanzine mates (Ákos Örményi, Péter Egyedi, Ádám Földes) help him recording a demo entitled ''Above the Clouds''. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Tamás Faragó (born 20 March 1978) is a musician, best known as the lead guitarist of Amber Smith and We Are Rockstars. Early life and personal life Faragó was born in Cegléd, Hungary. We Are Rockstars Faragó is the founding member of the Hungarian indie band We Are Rockstars along with György Ligeti. Amber Smith Faragó joined the Hungarian indie band Amber Smith in 2014. He played on the sixth full length studio album entitled Modern. In 2019 he left Amber Smith. Oleg (russian: Олег), Oleh ( uk, Олег), or Aleh ( be, Алег) is an East Slavic given name. The name is very common in Russia, Ukraine and Belаrus. Oszkár Ács
Oszkár Ács (born 1969) is a musician, best known as the bass guitarist of Amber Smith. Early life and personal life Ács was born in Szeged, Hungary. He is the co-founder of Időrablók. He joined Amber Smith in 2002. He left the band in 2012 due to his deteriorating illness. Amber Smith Ács also wrote some songs for Amber Smith's eponymous record (Amber Smith). In January 2013, Ács left the band. Imre Poniklo said that Ács was a creative member of the band and he thought of disbanding Amber Smith after the departure of Ács. In an interview with Recorder Blog, Ács said that Morrissey was his idol when he was invited to analyse Morrissey's World Peace Is None of Your Business release. On 16 October 2015, Ács played the bass on some songs at the 15th anniversary of Amber Smith in Budapest. Bence Bátor (born 23 July 1977) is a Hungarian musician, best known as session drummer and the drummer of the Hungarian indie band Amber Smith and "Frenk" and "ABBA Tribute Show" and also of "Bowies Keep Swinging", a David Bowie tribute band and in other projects. Bátor has been pursuing a modeling and commercial acting career in Hungary and worldwide. Early life and personal life Bátor was born in Tatabánya, Hungary. Imre Poniklo (born 16 October 1974) is a musician, best known as the lead singer, songwriter, lyricist and guitarist of Amber Smith. He is also a solo artist under the name Poniklo. As a singer, Poniklo's voice lies in the baritone range. Early life and personal life Poniklo was born in Budapest, Hungary. He grew up in Csepel. His father was a sewing machine-engineer. György Ligeti (; born 19 December 1973) is a Hungarian indie musician, record producer, best known as the lead singer, songwriter, lyricist and guitarist of the indie rock band We Are Rockstars, and the disbanded The Puzzle. He is also the singer and guitarist of the Hungarian electro band, Žagar. He is not related to the avant-garde classical composer of the same name, György Ligeti (1923-2006).
