Mo Church (Innlandet)
Mo Church ( no, Mo kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Nord-Odal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Mo. It is the church for the Mo parish which is part of the Solør, Vinger og Odal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The white, wooden church was built in a octagonal design in 1864 using plans drawn up by the architect Christian Heinrich Grosch. The church seats about 500 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1394, but the church was not built that year. The first church at Mo was a wooden stave church that was likely built during the early 13th century. This church was located about to the southwest of the present church site. This church was dedicated to the Archangel Michael. Not much is known about the look of the old building. Mo Church (Møre Og Romsdal)
Mo Church ( no, Mo kirke) is one of the five existing Y-shaped churches in Norway. It is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Surnadal Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Mo in the upper Surnadalen valley. It is the church for the Mo parish which is part of the Indre Nordmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The red, wooden church was built in the rare Y-shaped design in 1728 using plans drawn up by the architect Erik Jakobsen Holten. The church seats about 205 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to 1589, but it was not new that year. The first church at Mo was a stave church that was located on the same site as the present-day church. The church was possibly founded in the 13th century. Mo Church ( no, Mo kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Rana Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the town of Mo i Rana. It is the church for the Mo parish which is part of the Indre Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, Churches in Norway#Floor plan, cruciform, wooden church was built in a neo-gothic style in 1724 using plans drawn up by the architects Andreas Grenstad and Espen Poulson. The church seats about 400 people. History The church in Mo i Rana was founded in 1723-1724 when missionary Thomas von Westen led the construction of the new church. The first worship service held in the new church was on 6 January 1724. In 1832 the church underwent a renovation and expansion of the building. Mo Church ( no, Mo kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Tokke Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the village of Mo. It is one of the churches for the ''Eidsborg, Mo, og Skafså'' parish which is part of the Øvre Telemark prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1839 using plans drawn up by the architect Hans Linstow. The church seats about 132 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1342, but the church was not built that year. The first church in Mo was a wooden stave church that was built during the 13th century. There is not much known about the church, other than an inspection report from 1668 where it is described as having several exterior support beams holding up the walls.
