Mlynská Dolina
Mlynská dolina (literally: Mill valley; before 1894 german: Mühltal, hu, Malomvölgy) is a neighborhood of Karlova Ves borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is located in the Bratislava IV district. Geographically and historically it constitutes a much larger area of the entire valley of the river Vydrica (river), Vydrica, including its upper part located in the Little Carpathians mountains and the area of Patrónka. In the present, Mlynská dolina features two faculties of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics and the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies and university Dormitory, dormitories housing up to 15,000 students, the largest of its kind in Slovakia. Little Carpathians
The Little Carpathians (also: ''Lesser Carpathians'', sk, Malé Karpaty; german: Kleine Karpaten; hu, Kis-Kárpátok) are a low, about 100 km long, mountain range, part of the Carpathian Mountains. The mountains are situated in Western Slovakia, covering the area from Bratislava to Nové Mesto nad Váhom, and northeastern Austria, where a very small part called Hundsheimer Berge (or Hainburger Berge) is located south of the Devín Gate. The Little Carpathians are bordered by Záhorie Lowland in the west and the Danubian Lowland in the east. In 1976, the Little Carpathians were declared a protected area under the name Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area, covering . Motorway D2 (Slovakia)
D2 is a motorway ( sk, diaľnica) in Slovakia. It connects the Czech border at Kúty with the Hungarian border at Čunovo, passing through (ordered north to south) Malacky, Bratislava and Jarovce. It is part of the European routes E65 and E75 and of the Pan-European Corridor IV. The construction of the highway started in 1969 and it was finished in 2007. It is the only complete highway in Slovakia. History The first plans on D2 motorway/freeway appeared in the 1960s, from the Czechoslovak government act in 1963 to build 117 km long motorway from Brno to Bratislava, with 58.4 km in today's Slovakia. Slovenská televízia (; "Slovak Television"; STV) was a state-owned public television organisation in Slovakia. It was created in 1991 as the Slovak part of the former Czechoslovak Television and was headquartered in Bratislava. It was funded from a combination of television licence fees, advertising, and government funding. Bratislava Zoo
The Bratislava Zoo ( sk, Zoologická záhrada Bratislava) is a zoo in Bratislava, Slovakia. It is located in the area of Mlynská dolina in the borough Karlova Ves. Opened in 1960, it is the second oldest zoo in Slovakia. The zoo covers an area of , out of which is open to the public. The zoo receives on average around 300,000 visitors annually. As of 2020, it is home to over 1150 specimens of 169 animal species and is open every day of the year, with the exception of 1 January.
