The Mizoram women's cricket team is a women's cricket team that represents the Indian state of Mizoram. They were formed ahead of the 2018–19 season, and compete in the Women's Senior One Day Trophy and the Senior Women's T20 League. History Mizoram Women were formed ahead of the 2018–19 season, after an expansion of teams in Indian domestic cricket. In their first season, they competed in the Senior Women's One Day League and in the Senior Women's T20 League, but finished bottom of their group in both competitions. The Women's Senior One Day Trophy, previously known as the Senior Women's One Day League, is a women's List A cricket tournament held in India. It began in the 2006–07 season, with 24 teams representing state cricket associations, whilst the most recent season, 2022–23, had 37 teams competing. Railways have won the tournament 14 times, including the first and most recent season, whilst Delhi and Bengal have won the tournament once apiece. It took place from 28 October to 20 November 2021, with 37 teams competing in six round-robin divisions. Railways, who were the defending champions, won their 13th one-day title, beating Karnataka in the final. Competition format 37 teams competed in the tournament, divided into the Elite Group and the Plate Group, with the teams in the Elite Group further divided into Groups A, B, C, D and E. Each group took place in one host city, under COVID-19 protocols. The top two teams in each Elite Group progressed to the knockout stages, along with the top team from the Plate Group. Cricket In Mizoram
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. The Mizoram cricket team is a cricket team that represents the state of Mizoram in Indian domestic competitions. In July 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the team as one of the nine new sides that would compete in domestic tournaments for the 2018–19 season, including the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
