Saurashtra (region)
Saurashtra, also known as Sorath or Kathiawar, is a peninsular region of Gujarat, India, located on the Arabian Sea coast. It covers about a third of Gujarat state, notably 11 districts of Gujarat, including Rajkot District. It was formerly a Saurashtra (state), state of India before it merged with Bombay state. In 1961 it separated from Bombay and joined Gujarat. Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry (1 June 1929 – 28 June 2022) was an Indian-born Irish billionaire construction tycoon. Madhusudan Devram Mistry (born 3 January 1945) is an Indian politician belonging to the Indian National Congress. Early life Madhusudan Mistry was born to Devaram Gopalram and Tulasiben in , Carpenter-Badai Family Asarwa, Ahmedabad, in 1945. Dhruva Mistry (born 1 January 1957) is an Indian sculpture, sculptor. Biography Mistry was born on 1 January 1957, Kanjari, central Gujarat in India and studied Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. Cyrus Mistry (March 11, 1956) is an Indian author and playwright. He won the 2014 DSC Prize for South Asian Literature for '' Chronicle of a Corpse Bearer''. He is the brother of author Rohinton Mistry. Mistry is from Mumbai. He began writing at a young age as a playwright, but has also worked as a journalist and short-story writer. His first short was published in 1979. He has also written short film scripts and several documentaries. One of his short stories, "Percy", was made into the Gujarati feature film ''Percy'' in 1989; he wrote the screenplay and dialogue. It won the National Award for Best Gujarati Film in 1989, as well as a Critics' Award at the Mannheim Film Festival.
