Miss Rwanda 2012, the third edition of the Miss Rwanda pageant, was held on September 1, 2012 at Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali. The winner, Aurore Mutesi Kayiranga succeeded Grace Bahati, Miss Rwanda 2009. Grace Bahati was not invited to officially hand over his crown to his successor because she gave birth to a son out of wedlock. It's a taboo is very present in Rwandan culture.. Aurore Mutesi Kayiranga
Aurore Mutesi Kayibanda (born 1993 in Bujumbura) is a Rwandan model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Rwanda 2012. Early life Mutesi Kayibanda Aurore, daughter of Ladislas Kayibanda and Olive Mukazera, now living in Kigali City, was born in Burundi (Bujumbura) in 1992, the youngest of four (4) children. Miss Mutesi Kayibanda Aurore attended nursery school at Petit Prince (in Kigali city) where she continued her primary education and later continued her education at Kimisange Primary School, where she graduated from primary school. In secondary school, studied at St Joseph's in Nyamirambo and continued at ETO Muhima, where she graduated from Construction with a Bachelor's degree in Construction. Aurore graduated from Kigali Institute Science and Technology a campus of National University of Rwanda. Miss Rwanda 2014
Miss Rwanda 2014, the fourth edition of the Miss Rwanda pageant, was held on February 22, 2014 at Petit Stade of Remera in the province of Kigali. The winner, Colombe Akiwacu succeeded Aurore Mutesi Kayiranga, Miss Rwanda 2012. Colombe participated in Miss Supranational 2016 the third competition of beauty pageant all over the world, where she was ranked 17th among 75 countries. The first best ranking of Rwanda since its entry in this competition. Colombe is currently based in Paris where she is doing her career as a fashion model.
