Miss Grand Russia
Miss Grand Russia is a national beauty pageant title awarded to Russian representatives competing at the Miss Grand International pageant. The title was first awarded in 2013, when a Moscow-based television personality, Anyuta Volkova, was appointed to compete in the inaugural edition of Miss Grand International in Thailand, where the headquarter of the pageant was located. From 2013 to 2020, the license of Miss Grand Russia belonged to the Cheboksary-based modeling agency, Volga Models, which is also the organizer of the Miss Tourism Russia pageant. However, the country representatives for Miss Grand International were not determined through the mentioned national contest; hand-picking was usually done. In 2021, Volga Models lost the franchise to a queen maker, Anton Sergeevi, who also holds the Miss Grand licenses for Crimea and Siberia in 2021, as well as Mongolia and Belarus in 2022, but all of his affiliated Miss Grand titleholders were appointed. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Miss Russia 2011
Miss Russia 2011, was held in the Crocus National Exhibition Hall in Moscow on March 7, 2011. 50 contestants from all over Russia competed for the crown. The winner will represents Russia into Miss Universe 2011 and Miss World 2011. Each year, there are 477 beauty contests in Federal subjects of Russia, states and Types of inhabited localities in Russia, cities of Russia to go to compete in the Miss Russia. Each year, 4 months before the national competition, a pre-preliminary happens in Moscow to select the 50 official candidates.
