Miss Grand International 2015
Miss Grand International 2015 was the third edition of the Miss Grand International pageant, held on October 25, 2015 at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, Thailand. Candidates from seventy-seven countries and territories competed for the title, of whom a 20-year-old Dominican American from Rhode Island representing Dominican Republic, Anea Garcia, was announced the winner and received a cash prize of 40,000 USD as a reward. Meanwhile, the candidates from Miss Grand Australia, Miss Grand India, the Miss Grand Philippines, and Miss Grand Thailand were named the runners-up. However, due to the inability to fulfill the agreement, the original winner from the Dominican Republic was later replaced by the first vice-miss, of Australia, in early 2016. The pageant's grand final round was broadcast via the Channel 7 and the pageant official website, with a Thai television personality, Matthew Deane and Miss Grand International 2014 Daryanne Lees, as the event's MCs. Matthew Paul Deane (; born 29 August 1978) is a Thai-Australian singer, model, actor and television presenter. Early life and education Deane was born on August 29, 1978, to an Australian father, Christopher Deane, and a Thai Chinese mother, Songsri Chanthavanij. He graduated from Cairns State High School and Rangsit University. Career Deane started an entertainment career in 1996 as a singer under GMM Grammy, debuted an album "Code Love," and switched to RS Public Company Limited in 2000 with a successful recorded album "Matthew Mania." Miss Grand Thailand ('' th, มิสแกรนด์ไทยแลนด์'') is a Thai beauty pageant that has been held annually since 2013 to select who represent Thailand at Miss Grand International. The pageant has been owned by Nawat Itsaragrisil since its inception and was previously broadcast on Channel 7 from 2013 – 2019 then instead switched to be aired on One 31 after the pageant ends its partnership with the Channel 7 in 2020. In the first three editions of the contest, all national entrants were selected by the organization directly.
