Miss Georgia (U.S. State)
The Miss Georgia competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Georgia in the Miss America pageant. Georgia has won the Miss America crown twice - Neva Jane Langley of Lakeland, Florida who won the 1953 Miss America title, and in 2015, when Betty Cantrell of Warner Robins was named Miss America 2016, making her the first native-born Miss Georgia to hold the Miss America title. In the fall of 2018, the Miss America Organization (MAO) terminated Miss Georgia organization's license as well as licenses from Florida, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia. On December 22, 2018; the MAO reinstated the license for the Miss Georgia organization to Trina Pruitt. Kelsey Hollis of Warner Robins was crowned Miss Georgia 2022 on June 18, 2022 at River Center for the Performing Arts in Columbus. Miss USA
Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020, when the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, Miss USA for 2008. The pageant was owned by Donald Trump from 1996 to 2015 and was previously broadcast on NBC. In September 2015, WME/IMG purchased the pageant from Trump. In 2020, for the first time, the FYI network broadcast the competition. In October 2022, JKN Global Group acquired the pageant from WME/IMG. Miss America 2023
Miss America 2023 was the 95th edition of the Miss America pageant, which occurred at the Mohegan Sun on December 16, 2022. The 2023 calendar year, based on several sources, may be the final year at Mohegan Sun. Rather than being aired on mainstream television, the pageant was streamed for the second consecutive year. Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen
The Miss Georgia's Teen competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the U.S. state of Georgia in the Miss America's Teen pageant. The pageant is held each June in Columbus, Georgia. Rebecca Zhang of Johns Creek was crowned Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen on June 18, 2022, at the RiverCenter of the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia. She competed for the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas in Dallas, Texas on August 12, 2022, where she was in the Top 11. On December 29, 2022, Zhang resigned her title due to her academic obligations at Vanderbilt University. The Miss Georgia Organization announced that Anna Kate Robinson, the 2nd runner-up to Zhang, will assume the title of Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen 2022. Maggie Bridges
Maggie Marie Bridges (born December 6, 1992) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Brinson, Georgia, who was crowned Miss Georgia 2014. She is the second Georgia Tech student to win the Miss Georgia title. The most frequently presented Miss America awards are for preliminary talent and swimsuit. The talent award was introduced in 1936, and the swimsuit award in 1940. In the 2000s, preliminary awards for evening gown and interview were briefly introduced but were discontinued after two years as it was felt that they made the semi-finalists too predictable.
