Miss Earth United Kingdom
Miss Earth United Kingdom (previously Miss Earth Great Britain) is a Beauty pageant that chooses women to represent the United Kingdom at the Miss Earth pageant. History Miss Earth United Kingdom was held for first time in 2005. Before Miss Earth UK was launched in 2005, delegates were send by other organisations to Miss Earth. In 2002 and 2004 the representatives of United Kingdom were used as ''Miss Great Britain'' at Miss Earth pageant. In 2006, the Miss Earth UK sent the winners named as ''Miss England'' and ''Miss Wales'' to the Miss Earth pageant. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Miss Earth 2006
Miss Earth 2006, the 6th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 26, 2006, at the grounds of the National Museum in Manila, Philippines. The pageant was won by Hil Hernández of Chile and crowned by outgoing titleholder, Miss Earth 2005, Alexandra Braun. The event was originally intended to be held in Santiago, Chile on 15 November, and would be the first Miss Earth pageant outside of the Philippines and as well in Asia, but the Chilean organizers did not meet requirements. In the end, pageant owners Carousel Productions decided to hold the pageant in the Philippines, where all previous Miss Earth pageants had been held, despite having less than two months to prepare for the event. Romy McCahill (born 7 November 1993) is a Scottish model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned as Miss Earth Scotland 2014 that gives her the right to represent Scotland at Miss Earth 2014.
