The Miskolc Metropolitan Area ( hu, Miskolci agglomeráció) is a metropolitan area in Northern Hungary . The agglomeration consists of 13 municipalities: 4 cities 2 "big" villages and 7 villages . Alsózsolca
Alsózsolca is a town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Hungary. In the 19th and 20th centuries, a Jewish community lived in the village. In 1930, there were 75 Jews in the village. In 1944, all the city's Jews were sent to the Auschwitz extermination camp, most of whom were murdered in the Holocaust. The village still has a Jewish cemetery. Geography Alsózsolca is located in a low-lying area at the bank of Sajó river. Sajókeresztúr
Sajókeresztúr is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County in northeastern Hungary, about seven kilometres north of Miskolc, between Szirmabesenyő and Sajóecseg. It has a kindergarten, a primary school (Eötvös József Általános Iskola) and a football team (Sajókeresztúri Fociklub). History Sajókeresztúr is a settlement inhabited since prehistoric times. It is one of the settlements along the Sajó river, close to the Bükk mountains, which was put on the path of market town development by viticulture, wine production, and trade. The first reference to its existence is from the 14th-15th centuries, in the registry book of the Miskolc kin (family) estates, referred to as ’Keresztwr’. The name was taken from its church, which was mentioned as ‘ecclesia Sancte Crucis’ in papal registry documents. Felsőzsolca
Felsőzsolca is a small town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Northern Hungary, in the Miskolc agglomeration. It is the city with the tenth highest population in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county and the second biggest in the Miskolc agglomeration.
