Mirza, Kamrup
Mirza is a major town in Kamrup Rural district of Assam, India. It is situated on south bank of river Brahmaputra and 18 kilometres from Guwahati. Education The literacy rate of the town is 94%. Mirza is the educational epicenter of South Kamrup region. There are two government colleges at Mirza. They are Dakshin Kamrup College and Dakshin Kamrup Girls' College. Apart from that one B.Ed. college, three private Junior colleges, eight High Schools (Government as well as Private), a private engineering institute NITS Mirza, 'NITS Mirza' is also located here. Transport The town is near National Highway 17 (India), National Highway 17, and connected to nearby towns and cities with regular buses and other modes of transportation. Guwahati (, ; formerly rendered Gauhati, ) is the biggest city of the Indian state of Assam and also the largest metropolis in northeastern India. Boko, Assam
Boko is a town located in Assam, in the Kamrup district in the Indian state of Assam. The town is composed of 139 villages. It is approximately 55 kilometers west of Guwahati. Culture Boko's cultural tradition is known mainly for the Bogai festival, which began in honor of a King Bogai who ruled the area. People visit Boko during this event, because it is the only one of its kind in the region and is the biggest festival held in the Dawkhin Kamrup area. Boko is also home to the Xuwori festival, which has been celebrated in the town for almost a century. Brahmaputra
The Brahmaputra is a trans-boundary river which flows through Tibet, northeast India, and Bangladesh. It is also known as the Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibetan, the Siang/Dihang River in Arunachali, Luit in Assamese, and Jamuna River in Bangla. It is the 9th largest river in the world by discharge, and the 15th longest. Kamrup Rural district, or simply Kamrup district (Pron: ˈkæmˌrəp or ˈkæmˌru:p), is an administrative district in the state of Assam in India formed by dividing the old Kamrup district into two in the year 2003; other being Kamrup Metropolitan district, named after the region it constitutes. This district, along with Nalbari, Barpeta, Kamrup Metropolitan, Bajali and Baksa districts has been created from the Undivided Kamrup district.
