Miroslav Kollár
Miroslav Kollár (born 13 August 1969) is a Slovak politician. He served as a Member of the National Council from 2020 to 2023. From September 2021 he has served as the chairman and sole MP of the Together – Civic Democracy party. Between 2014 and 2022 he served as the mayor of Hlohovec. Early life Kollár was born and raised in Hlohovec. He studied commerce at the University of Economics in Bratislava, graduating in 1991. After graduation, he worked as a journalist and was involved in a local politics in Hlohovec. Political career In 2019 Kollár joined the new party of president Andrej Kiska For the People. In the V 2020 Slovak parliamentary election, he gained a seat. He became the only government MP who refused to personally sign the coalition agreement. Even though he supported the government at the time, he felt the signature would limit his freedom to vote according to his personal conscience. 2023 Slovak Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovakia on 30 September 2023 to elect members of the National Council. The 2020 Slovak parliamentary election resulted in a coalition government led by the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities movement. On 15 December 2022 the Slovak government lost a no-confidence vote, and a snap election in 2023 was demanded by the President of Slovakia, Zuzana Čaputová, and the opposition. 2020 Slovak Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Slovakia on 29 February 2020 to elect all 150 members of the National Council. The anti-corruption list led by Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) movement emerged as the largest parliamentary group, winning 53 seats. The ruling coalition comprising Direction – Social Democracy (SMER–SD), the Slovak National Party (SNS), and Most–Híd (MH), led by Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini of SMER–SD, won only 38, with both the SNS and MH losing their parliamentary representation. Andrej Kiska
Andrej Kiska (; born 2 February 1963) is a Slovak politician, entrepreneur, writer and philanthropist who served as the fourth president of Slovakia from 2014 to 2019. He ran as an independent candidate in the 2014 presidential election in which he was elected to the presidency in the second round of voting over Prime Minister Robert Fico.
