Mirigama Railway Station
Mirigama (also spelled Meerigama) ( si, මීරිගම; ta, மீரிகம) is a town in Gampaha District, Sri Lanka. It is located from Colombo, and from Negombo. Mirigama is the hometown of Sri Lanka's first Prime Minister, D. S. Senanayake and former speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Karu Jayasuriya. Economy Mirigama is an economic hub in the region and is a popular shopping center. It also has a large number of businesses and public institutions, which results in a large population and a large number of people commuting to and from the city daily. Transport The city is located on the AB29, which connects the A1 Colombo - Kandy road with the B322 Ja-Ela - Kurunegala road. Polgahawela is a town located in north western Sri Lanka. It is most notable for being a major railway junction. Polgahawela is situated in the North Western Province of Sri Lanka, and is located approximately north-east from the capital city of Colombo; from Kandy; from Kurunegala; and from Bandaranayake International Airport. It is the location of an important railway junction in Sri Lanka Railways' network, connecting the Main Line, which runs from Colombo to Badulla and the Northern Line, which runs through to the northern port of Kankesanthurai. Kokila Harshani Gunawardena (born 28 April 1974) is a Sri Lankan politician, former provincial councillor and Member of Parliament. Gunawardena was born on 28 April 1974. The Speaker of the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is the presiding officer of the chamber.
